DIY Dog Treats: Healthy Holiday No-Bake Recipes

If you’re hosting a holiday party, don’t forget that the furry family members enjoy DIY treats too! Your dog will love these super-healthy homemade dog treats, and you don’t have to spend too much time making them. Both dog treat recipes take about 10 minutes each to prepare, and contain wholesome ingredients to boost your dog’s health. Kale is a great antioxidant and bone broth adds moisture and flavor to any meal. Kefir and pumpkin are ideal digestive aids for dogs, and blue and green mussels provide loads of healthy omega-3 fatty acids. Why not make some fun dog-friendly DIY treats for the holiday pups in your family!

• 1 cup of The Honest Kitchen’s Beef Bone Broth
• 1/2 cup of pureed kale

• 1 silicone baking pan in the shape of Christmas trees
• Medium-size bowl
• Measuring cups
• Spoon

Preparation time: 10 minutes
Freezing time: 2 hours
Total time: 2 hours and 10 minutes
Yield: 6-8 DIY dog treats

1. In a bowl, combine 1 cup of warm bone broth and 1/2 cup of the pureed kale together. Mix thoroughly and then pour in the silicone mold.
2. Freeze for at least 2 hours or until completely frozen.
3. Let your pups enjoy the holidays with this very healthy treat!

• 12 individual mussels from The Honest Kitchen’s Nice Mussels
• 5 packs of Weruva Pumpkin Patch Up
• 2 cups of plain, unsweetened kefir

• 1 silicone baking pan in the shape of snowflakes
• Food processor
• Measuring cups
• Spoon

Preparation time: 10 minutes
Freezing time: 2 hours
Total time: 2 hours and ten minutes
Yield: 6-8 dog treats

1. In a food processor, grind up 12 mussels. Add the pumpkin and blend together.
2. Take out the silicone mold and fill up each snowflake halfway with kefir.
3. Pour the mixture of mussels and pumpkin on top of the kefir.
4. Freeze for at least 2 hours or until completely frozen.
5. Let your pups enjoy these very healthy DIY treats!
