Can I use this to lower the PH in my aquarium?

Is this sphagnum moss live or dried? Thanks

Answer by ChewyAug 30, 2021
This moss is not dried. Use sphagnum moss as natural decor in tropical tanks, a humidifier for any terrarium environment, or a substrate for carnivorous or live plants. This soft and leafy green moss holds moisture and naturally repels odors. Completing your tropical or wetland habitat with a thin layer of green sphagnum moss will help maintain the humidity of the tank as well as make it easier to clean up and maintain your terrarium. Sphagnum helps reptiles shed properly and live in an environment that supports their natural habits. Use in and pack around water dishes to allow easy access and lessen the risk of drowning. Replace moss once or twice a month depending on your pets' habits and terrarium size.

Is this okay for bearded dragons?

Answer by ChewyApr 02, 2022
All Galapagos mosses work well with bearded dragons for décor or slight increases in humidity, if needed. If you notice your dragon trying to eat the moss, we recommend removing it.

Is this ok for a garter snake?

Answer by ChewyAug 15, 2021
This moss is the perfect substrate for frogs, tropical snakes, toads, invertebrates, and similar tropical and temperate species.

"Golden" moss

I got the golden sphagnum. Seems satisfactory, no complaints. If you need a lot it would be more cost effective to get something else in bulk, but if you don't see

Good, dusty

The moss is great, but there are lots of moss crumbs that like sticking to stuff and can be inhaled if they float up from the bag as I open it.

great moss for snakes, holds humidity well.

the only thing that stood out to me was that the moss dyed some of the under side of one of my snakes bowls, not sure why. it was only when it was fresh though.

Great moss

Overall nicely packaged, fluffy moss. I did comb through minimally to remove a few sharper tiny stick pieces, but the moss itself is very fluffy and my crested gecko
