It is recommended to follow at least a 7-day transition plan before exclusively feeding your pet a new food. Start by mixing 75% of your pet's current diet with 25% of the new diet on Day 1 and Day 2. On Day 3 and Day 4, mix 50% of the current diet with 50% of the new diet. On Day 5 and Day 6, mix 25% of the current diet with 75% of the new diet. On Day 7, you can feed your pet the new food exclusively. Great Health Benefits if You Can Get Your Dog to Eat It

My 12.5 yr old dog has blood glucose & weight problems. This food formulation has helped regulate his blood glucose as well as aided in weight loss, (maybe because he refuses to eat his food when I put this in it). He has never been a picky eater (i.e.. his weight problem) He refuses to eat his food when I put this can of "paste" in with his dry kibble. I have to mix the canned chicken stew formula in with it & he still won't eat it unless I add regular canned dog food in with it. Having to mix in non Rx formulated canned food to get him to eat this is defeating the reason for feeding it. Great Wet Prescription Food

This Hills Prescription Diet wet food is great. Our Miniature Schnauzer has eaten the dry for years but our vet wanted us to give her wet along with the dry now since she was recently diagnosed with diabetes. The wet helps with her condition. It is the same flavor as her dry and she loves it!

I chose this food because my vet recommended it since the usual food she receives nobody seems to have in stock. As soon as they come back with Hills r/d I will switch back but my fur baby seems to be happy with this wet food.

My dogs love this wet food. They are hit and miss with the kibble. But I need them to be grain free so I was very upset to see that barley was added to the mix. Please go back to the old formula.

Decent food for diabetic dog

my diabetic dog will eat anything so not a problem its my other dog who is picky and doesn't care for this loaf style food. I was getting the stew style which both dogs liked but it is very strong smelling so I switched to this type which smells less strong but one dog won't eat it and both are expensive.

It would be great if the can food did not require a can opener. I have not opened a can with a can opener in years. I couldn’t even find one. This is 2021! However the food was eaten and enjoyed by my dog which was important.

Damaged cans

Really disappointed that the 2 cans in the center of the case are smashed. All packaging is in perfect condition, except the 2 center cans, like the factory snuck them into the case. I will continue to order from Chewy, because this was likely a factory issue, but annoyed I now have 2 cans I can’t feed to my dog.
