How would you suggest going about introducing a cat to this if they’ve only used a traditional litter box?

It's recommended to add some litter from your old litter box into their new one and place the new litter box in the same spot you've had the old litter box. You may like to try placing your cat on top of litter box and offer some treats.

Is the top removable to allow access for scooping/cleaning?

Yes, but I always have lined my boxes with large leaf bags then lift it out tie it & throw away. However, all my cats are declawed so they don't make holes in the bottom of the bag & I never use clumping litter. If I run out of bags I spray the bottom with a little cooking spray so nothing sticks to box.

Pieces fit together poorly

I contacted Chewy to let them know that the litterbox was damaged on arrival - not from shipping kindly gave me a partial refund- 5.00 I went to put it together

I contacted Chewy to let them know that the litterbox was damaged on arrival - not from shipping kindly gave me a partial refund- 5.00 I went to put it together -pieces fit poorly. I have a fairly large cat so I’m afraid that the lid will fall in frequently. I don’t want to contact them again, because I need it now as my old one the lid is broken. It looks like this is a common issue reading through just the first few reviews. So consider this when purchasing. it’s not cheap. I wish it was made better

Litter Everywhere

The litter box itself is fine. It’s not as ugly as most. It’s easy to clean. My cat might be the problem. His post poop zoomies kick in while he’s still in the box

The litter box itself is fine. It’s not as ugly as most. It’s easy to clean. My cat might be the problem. His post poop zoomies kick in while he’s still in the box and he launches himself and the cat litter (and sometimes turds) out of the hole at the top. I’ll hear him jump out and the cat litter scattering across the floor. I’ve got an xl litter mat too. This box just isn’t working out for us.

This is the first top entry litter box my kitten has tried but it is excellent. The first few times he was a bit messier and got a bit of litter on the floor but

This is the first top entry litter box my kitten has tried but it is excellent. The first few times he was a bit messier and got a bit of litter on the floor but after that it has been almost spotless. This is excellent at reducing litter tracking. For reference my kitten is between 4-5 months old and he was able to jump in and out with no problems. Previously had only been using traditional litter boxes.

I'm writing this review in hopes it helps someone with the same issue I had. I literally tried every single type of litter box and every single one my cats would like to pee towards the back of the box which resulted in pee leaking out the little cracks. This is the ONLY litter box that works for us. It's huge and easy to clean and holds a ton of litter. There's no cracks for any pee to leak through its just a huge round circle with a lid. They do have to go in and out through the top but my cats aren't elderly so that's not a problem for me. I recommend this litter box it's amazing and saved me time spent cleaning up pee.

Love this litter box

I like that it’s not your ordinary litter box it looks cool to put anywhere in your house, i got it because it seems as if it won’t be as messy since they’re jumping

Great plastic litter box

I wish they made an option in stainless steel. However, for plastic these are great and hold up well even with the weight of my 15lb boy. My other boy who is 7

No More Urine Outside The Box

Took serveral weeks for my cats to use this new litter box but it's easier to scoop out their poop but not the pee. It nice not to have my male cat, Kylo's pee seep

Took serveral weeks for my cats to use this new litter box but it's easier to scoop out their poop but not the pee. It nice not to have my male cat, Kylo's pee seep through the litter box lid and it the baseboard, litter mat, and the carpet. Although I am not fond of the amount of litter sitting on the top of the litter box.
