Unplug and remove the internal Pet Bed Warmer. Wash on the gentle cycle with cold water. Line dry or use the no-heat cycle on your dryer.

What kind of liner should be used when placed on a soft surface?

No liner is required under the K&H Thermo-Kitty Fashion Splash, even when placed on a soft surface. You are welcome to place a towel or other materials under the heated cat bed to help protect the fabric of the item you are placing this bed onto if desired.

I have two large Orange tabbies. Would they fit in this bed?

We recommend measuring your pet to find the perfect bed size. Pets who curl up to sleep can fit on a smaller bed, while pets who stretch out need a larger bed. To determine the ideal bed length, measure your pet in his or her normal sleeping position, then add 4-6 inches for cats and small dogs.

Is this battery operated or a plug in?

Because of a recent accident I had, I had to give up my Anakoni kitty who had been with me for 11 years. Fortunately, I have a cat loving great niece who lives not too far from me. When I asked her if she knew anyone who would love my cat , she said "Yes. I will". So, Koni lives with her and her two cats now and even if I could bring Koni home and care for him, I wouldn't. He is living his best life. I'm 86 years old and him being with younger people and other cats has been good for him. He's more active and interested in things. He has a favorite sleeping place in his new home, and this bed is where he can be found whenever the drowsies come on. He had a wonderful Christmas and I'm going to go visit him next weekend, so that will be my Christmas.

I have a very needy 19 yr old Siamese cat who follows me around constantly seeking a warm lap and snuggles. I had serious doubts he would sleep on this, as he has never accepted a pet bed. BUT, his old arthritic kitty bones LOVE this bed. I truly think it has made him calmer and happier because he can warm his little toe beans whenever he wants, instead of waiting for me to sit down. Highly recommend.

I bought my daughter this heated cat pad for her 14 year old cat, Mouse. This fuzzy, warm cocoon has made a huge difference in the quality of her life especially during these cold winter months. Mouse lays on it 23 hours each day and gets up only for food and bathroom breaks. This warm and fuzzy mat is making her final years so much more comfortable. Mouse is a very small rescue cat but this would also fit a larger cat because, as everybody knows, "if it fits, she sits".

The bed is cute, but it came with a tiny hole in the fabric. Which doesn't really affect the integrity of the heating element, but when testing the heating only a small section near the cord got warm. Cooper refused to touch it though because the static it produces is crazy. (Even when off so it's not an actual electric issue.) You get near it and fur or hair stands on end. The bed slides as well. If you place it on carpet it should be fine, but it slides if place on hardwood or linoleum. I'm surprised it doesn't have those tiny rubber dots on the bottom to prevent that like most beds.

Brings so much joy to my cat!

This was so worth every penny. My arthritic senior kitty took to it right away and spends hours in it every day. I leave it plugged in 24/7 and my electric bill

This was so worth every penny. My arthritic senior kitty took to it right away and spends hours in it every day. I leave it plugged in 24/7 and my electric bill went up by maybe $2 a month. We don't get any sunbeams for basking in the winter, so this is the next best thing. I highly recommend it!

I bought two of these thinking my three cats would like them since they have other heated beds, but it's a hard no on this one. My cats want nothing to do with them,

I bought two of these thinking my three cats would like them since they have other heated beds, but it's a hard no on this one. My cats want nothing to do with them, and they are typically not super choosy. But I've had these beds out for a few weeks, and at first they would sniff and walk away - maybe because there is faint funky, plastic smell - but now they just ignore them.

Our 18 year old big boy took to this bed right away. Winters are hard on him now that he’s older and more arthritic. He loves to stretch out in this bed. It definitely feels warm to the touch when he’s in it but seems like the temperature stays pretty stable once it warms up. It gets pretty warm underneath, so we ended up putting a towel under it since it was on a leather ottoman. The padding feels a little firm, but it doesn’t seem to bother him.

I set up the Thermo-Kitty Fashion Splash Indoor Heated Cat Bed, on the living room floor. Beverly would have nothing to do with it because of the smell of the fabric

I set up the Thermo-Kitty Fashion Splash Indoor Heated Cat Bed, on the living room floor. Beverly would have nothing to do with it because of the smell of the fabric. I took the pad out and put it in a pillowcase and he also objected to the pillow case. I then took the pad and placed it on a chest of drawers in a cotton towel and he said he was happy to lay there on it. It would be nice to be able to buy just the pad with instructions without having to buy the rest of the fabric material. I don't think he would ever appreciate the smell of new acrylic or polyester fabric

I think 3 stars is too generous. Out of 3 dogs and 2 cats in my home, exactly none will lay on this thing. I checked, and it really is warm (you have to cover it

I think 3 stars is too generous. Out of 3 dogs and 2 cats in my home, exactly none will lay on this thing. I checked, and it really is warm (you have to cover it for a while to feel the heat), but none of my animals will lay on it. Ive tried moving it all around the house, laying a small blanket over it, and even putting the little heat pad in a different bed (but then I dont think the heat could penetrate the stuffing). I even waited to make up my mind until the weather was cold enough that they all seek out heat in the house, but still, they wont use it. I think the problem is that this "bed" is pretty hard, flat, not at all plush, and the bolster is absolutely useless for snuggling up to because it's so short. The animals would rather lay on the throw rug beside it than use this thing. It's a great idea, but the manufacturer just didn't test it enough or think it through well enough or something. Pretty disappointing.

I’ve bought so many things for my cat (beds, blankets, towers, shelves, etc) and this is the only thing that she not only took to the minute I took it out of the box but has become her go-to in the evenings. I’m not surprised though. I’d have to look back at the description but whatever material they use for the bed is so soft and cozy, I’d personally like a large blanket to match. I plugged it in for the first time the other night and like other reviewers, I found the cord to be a little short but certainly not a dealbreaker. And it’s true, the actual heating pad inside is not the full length/width of the cat bed but it miraculously heats the entire bed! Very happy and warm, cozy kitty. My only suggestion would be to add a non-slip bottom to prevent the bed from sliding around. Just go for it, it’s a great price and you’ll definitely win points with your cat.
