Questions & Answers

This has molasses in it it says. Bunny’s aren’t supposed to have molasses as it’s to high in sugar and is hard to digest. Are these still ok? Also would they be ok for a 10 week old Holland lop.
Answer by ChewyApr 05, 2021
Cane molasses is included in small amounts in most of Oxbow's Natural Science supplements to act as a natural binding agent to help hold the high fiber, plant-based ingredients together, providing a uniform source of nutrition to your pet. Plant-based cane molasses is an unrefined carbohydrate, meaning it is absorbed much slower over time when compared to rapidly-absorbed, refined carbohydrates. This prevents sudden spikes in blood sugar that are often noted with the consumption of simple carbohydrates.

Does this product aid in hair ball prevention in rabbits? If not, what product will?
Answer by ChewyJun 08, 2021
There are no ingredients specific to the prevention of hairballs but it will certainly keep hair moving through the system. Rabbits are unable to vomit, so they do not have hairballs like cats. Feeding a high fiber will assist in preventing blockages, they suggest hay-based pellets as well as a large variety of hays for bunnies.

So my rabbit isn't even sick but can I feed these Dailey for it to stay healthy?
Answer by ChewyMay 11, 2018
This supplement is safe to use as a preventative and will help support a healthy digestive system.

Can you use this with the other products?
Answer by ChewyAug 05, 2022
You can feed multiple Natural Science supplements at the same time but be sure you follow the feeding directions and do not exceed the daily recommended amount of any of the supplements. Also, we recommend that your veterinarian confirm that your pet can benefit from the addition of any of the Natural Science supplements before feeding them.

Excellent for chinchillas

We give our chinchillas any time we see signs of digestive issues (e.g., smaller than usual poop) and almost always things go back to normal in a day or two. Both of our chinchillas will eat it voluntarily (not always the case with supps)--one actually thinks it's a treat :)

Great product, so far.

My mini Rex rabbit loved these “treats” and I often see that she even eats the other half which my mini lop doesn’t like. I worry about my buns getting GI stasis, but I think that this is a pretty good product to help prevent that. I’ve been a bunny parent for years now and believe me, it’s hard! I’m always worrying about what’s good for them and what could happen to them if I gave them something new! Lots of rabbit treats that are sold could potentially kill your rabbit or make them sick. They have very sensitive stomaches. The only think I’m really going to pick at is that this product has cane molasses, which aren’t very good for your pet rabbit. Otherwise so far this product is great and I might just definitely buy it again!

picky bunny approved

My bunny is pretty picky when it comes to treats, but she loves these. She gets super excited when she sees us even getting close to the bag. She gets one a day, and I’d like to think they do help with digestion. I’d keep buying them even if they were “just a treat” though because she enjoys them so much.

Bunnies love it

My vet and I are unsure if these really help digestion since it all seems to be anecdotal vs scientific proof, but my bunnies love these as a treat!

Effective relief for digestive upsets.

These are a staple in my cupboard for any days my guinea pig has stomach upsets. Wet stools clear within 4-8 hours for him after he eats these. (Basically a Bernie's Perfect Poop equivalent for the piggies.)

Great tablet/treat

My Dutch rabbit used to get stasis. We started adding these tablets in to his routine along with other diet changes and have noticed improvements. He loves getting his tablet every morning!

It has molass

My daughter's 2 pigs love this. Ingredients include molass. That sweetness makes it tasty. It also contains preservative. Not really sure how this would help the pigs' digestive tract. For next purchase, I'll stick with the Oxbow Vitamin C. All these supplements add too much sweetness with molass and other unneeded items such as Gum and Preservative.

Helped my bunny significantly

My bunny has had GI issues for quite a few years and I had to cut out all treats and had to stick to a specific bland diet for him so he wouldn’t have diarrhea. After I started giving him these, which he loves, I have been able to give him his favorite veggies and treats again!
