Pets can be sensitive to sudden changes in their diets. For this reason, it is extremely important to follow a gradual transition plan to best support your pet's health and product effectiveness. It is recommended to follow at least a 7-day transition plan before exclusively feeding your pet a new food. Cats will often refuse mixed diets, so we recommend adding the new food to a separate bowl from the old food. Start by mixing 75% of your pet's current diet with 25% of the new diet on Day 1 and Day 2. On Day 3 and Day 4, mix 50% of the current diet with 50% of the new diet. On Day 5 and Day 6, mix 25% of the current diet with 75% of the new diet. On Day 7, you can feed your pet the new food exclusively. Ask your Veterinarian about the best way to transition your pet to a new food.

Days 3-4 | 50% | 50% |
Days 5-6 | 25% | 75% |

So, apparently I made the cats fat with all the extra treats, and this food became necessary. Initially, the cats wouldn't eat it, so I would relent and give them their favorite gravy food. But then I stuck to my guns and gave them this food and left it there. When they saw this was the only food I was putting down each day, they caved. It's not their favorite, but they're at least eating most of their meal.
If I could rate a negative I would. I’ve been ordering this food for about a year. Several Months ago, most of the cans were either dented or crushed. The packing box was fine. This last order of 2 cases: one order had a few dented cans. The second case contained dried larvae of some kind and flying bugs. I logic if the quality control is this bad on the outside I have no faith that the the inside contents are acceptable. Im cancelling my auto ship.
We haven't used it long enough to test the weightloss aspect but, there is no waste which makes it valuable.
Rachel likes the gravy but not the chunks of meat so we put the contents of the can in a blender and make it all gravy. She is anxious for it at each meal and licks the plat clean. Her favorite./Users/JR/Library/Messages/Attachments/97/07/0492C1FB-6F99-498B-934E-0989C95CAC2F/IMG_3815.JPG
I have ordered this twice -- in the first case, many of the cans were deeply dented, which seems to have happened before the case was packed and wrapped, since the manufacturer's box was not damaged. I fed it anyway, but probably shouldn't have, since the seals could have been compromised. Now I am in the second case, and started weighing the portions -- I found incidentally that of the three cans I've opened so far, all were 10 grams below the labeled weight. This is super frustrating since I am spending more to feed the cat than to feed myself!
After our kitty Talia had to get a second surgery after getting spayed she started to gain some x pounds so our vet suggested pro plan Talia loves the Can food and there dry food and don't forget there snacks also !
My cat needs a low fat diet. The vet recommended this food. He seems to like it although admittedly he does not love it. But I'm sure a high fat diet tastes better than low fat. The gravy is nice for making the food more enticing. I think this is a a good quality food.
With Purina pet food there is NO doubt everything is made with qualify products and vitamins but what I enjoy the most is search for my pet products because I find everything in this store. Also I love how the packaging the shipments arrive well packaged on time and clean. They are excellent in everything. I highly recommend them
since I been buying this food, the price keeps going up and up.
My 6 year old cat was diagnosed with idiopathic Chylous Pleural Effusion which means her thoracic dust is draining in her chest and causing it hard for her to breathe. She was put on a low fat diet which consists of this brand wet cat food along with the OM dry food and she is currently taking Rutin along with the diet. Hopefully this works on keeping the fluid off her chest. She loves this cat food.
