Enzyme-Based and Antibiotic-Free

Zymox products use a patented, gentle formulation that combines three potent, naturally occurring enzymes—lactoperoxidase, lysozyme and lactoferrin—that are sourced from milk products. These enzymes are proven to work together to eliminate the source of infection on your pet, without any toxins or antibiotics that can irritate or cause antibiotic resistance.

About ZYMOX

Zymox was founded in 1998 by Pamela Bosco, who sought to change the way that people treated and managed ear, oral and skin infections with a safer alternative to antibiotics. Enlisting the help of her brother—a scientist that developed the enzyme technology in Biotene—Bosco formulated a powerful enzyme-based solution to help treat infections in dogs, cats and horses with no toxins, chemicals or antibiotics. Committed to keeping all four-legged pals healthy, they offer USA-made and sourced products to treat, soothe and protect against bacterial and fungal infections gently and 100% naturally.

Zymox is really great stuff !

By Zymox on Aug 28, 2020

The underside of our rat terrier had been itchy and red for a long time. She would scratch it a lot and it never seemed to get better. We used regular hydrocortisone cream and that helped some, but it would never heal completely and it would be red and itchy again in a few days. After we started using Zymox Enzymatic Topical Spray, the results were immediate. We only had to use Zymox for 4 or 5 days, with one later application. The skin on her belly has now cleared up and is soft to the touch and does not itch. She no longer scratches. We think Zymox is great!

    immediate relief

By KellyG on Aug 19, 2020

Our boxer has skin allergies that escalate so quickly that they get blistered, infected and ooze. It's terrible and so itchy and painful for him. We use this (in combination with Zymox shampoo & conditioner and skin ointment) and he literally feels IMMEDIATE relief. I spray AM & PM for a few days when it flares up and he quits licking (which means they can heal!!!) He hates the spray, but it's worth it for the relief he feels. It smells pleasant and isn't overwhelming.

My English cocker has sever allergies and is always itching and has something going on. I sprayed the areas she’s usually itching at 2-3 times and pat it dry to rub it in and she hasn’t itched since (she’s ALWAYS itching) so major difference!

    Put on cloth first

By Scruffy on Apr 2, 2020

I saw some reviews where folks had difficulty trying to spray the critter. Same with my cat (has allergies, rips out his fur). I take unscented cleansing wipes, add Zymox onto them, and give him a rubdown. Probably uses more but gets down to his skin and easier than getting him shots at the vet.

    Works quickly

By Kristine on Jan 3, 2020

My cat has a spot under her chin that she's been scratching, so I got her this along with some other stuff. I cleaned the spot she's been scratching before I sprayed it with this, and it works quickly and seems to be lasting a while. It's the only spot she's got that she scratches.

    Vet Recommended

By Tidus on Sep 19, 2019

My English Setter, Tidus, has been prone to severe allergy problems for many years. His feet end up bald, red, swollen, and ouchy in the spring and then again in the fall. No amount of bathing helps and we try to limit his allergy medications to only when his allergies are most severe. (Due to side effects.) Our vet recommended Zymox for his ears a couple years ago and he has not had one ear infection since we started using it. Last year, they suggested we start using Zymox spray on his feet as well. We've tried EVERY spray and "miracle" cure on his feet and none did the trick. He'd lick sprays right off (which probably wasn't good for his tummy) and nothing seemed to help. Zymox isn't a miracle cure - his feet still flare up during his worst allergy season. However, Zymox helps us manage his allergies enough to prevent full-blown infections and shorten the overall intensity and duration of his allergy flares. He also hates licking this stuff, which means I can put it on and know he'll leave his feet alone all night! By morning, his feet always look less red and he doesn't act like they bother him during the day. (Finally not telling him to stop licking every 5 minutes.) It does seem to be pretty drying on his skin, so I don't use it daily and sometimes balance it with a moisturizing product such as Corona. … more
