Description

Your precious pet can still show off his adorably cute personality even while healing from an injury with the Alfie Pet Noah Lion Dog & Cat Recovery Collar. An animal in the wild instinctively licks his wounds to help sanitize them, but that’s not always helpful or safe in the modern age of stitches, bandages and medication. This adorable fabric collar fits snugly around your furry friend’s neck with sturdy velcro closures to keep him from traumatizing the surgical site or injured area by chewing or licking. Although he may initially dislike the cone, he should adapt quickly with lots of positive energy, praise and, of course, tasty treats.

Key Benefits

  • Adorable lightweight recovery collar is designed to look just like a lion with a ruffled mane and two cute ears.
  • Designed to prevent pets from traumatizing a surgical site or wound by licking or chewing on the area.
  • Soft, plush fabric collar allows him to eat and drink normally and can even be worn while sleeping.
  • Sturdy velcro closures that can be adjusted as necessary for a snug, comfortable fit.
  • Available in six sizes to fit most pets, refer to the “Size” tab for details; most pets quickly adapt to wearing a recovery collar with positive praise and treats.

Additional Details

Pet parent should monitor pet in the beginning as pet may chew the collar. A highly restless or uncooperative pet could potentially flip the soft fabric collar over or remove it completely.

  • Soft and Cute

I have a Dachshund who had surgery and needed a collar for at least 1 wk. Had the hard plastic cone but ordered this so she'd have something soft to lay on. Never dawned on me that she has short little feet and this cone would be to long so she was tripping on it:( All worked out ok. Had to remove either cone when dog needed to go potty or eat. When resting this collar was better because of the flexibility and softness. Glad I got it.

  • Too Cute not to wear!

This collar is wonderful! We have received so many compliments. I can either fold it up as a cone or lay it down on his back and he cannot lick his cast. Definitely recommend this product. Know that this is not a cone of shame but an enhancer of personality!

  • Nice collar runs very small

    By on

This is great, however, it is sooooo unbelievably small, we had to return it. I ordered a medium size for my jack russell terrier and I couldn't fit it around his neck. Too bad, because it's cute and would have been great. There should be a notice of how small this runs. Given that the velcro wouldn't touch, I assume the large won't fit either. Highly recommended for a very, very small dog though.

  • JUST IN TIME!

My two year old poodle got his first "hot spot" (hopefully the last), right on his jawline... after a vet visit my friend lent me her plastic cone and he was paralyzed with fear and discomfort, so I ordered this to see if it would keep him from scratching his new wound. It arrived within 2 days and yes, he is so much happier in this cone and even walks over to have us put it on. My only concern is that he has flipped it down, and then scratched that area on his head with his hind leg. But it does cut down on his urge to scratch and I would recommend this if you are looking for comfort during the healing period. I bought the large for my 24 lb. poodle and it fits great! • Super cute

This cone is super cute. My dog actually likes wearing it now. When we first got it he hated it and would scratch at it, but now he likes when we put it on. It isn't super effective for stopping biting. He stopped on his own luckily though.

  • Very Cute and Cozy

This e-collar does run a little small. I ordered a Large for my 50-pound 5-month old Saint Bernard puppy and it just barely fits. Hoping she doesn't grow before her surgery in a few days :-) Anywho, this collar is super soft and very cute, too. It should be durable enough for post-surgery needs, and can also be used as a costume, as well.

  • Alfie Noah collar

Very cute and great idea but was a little too big and my puppy was tripping over it. I got a large cause he's got a large neck and is 15 pounds but it was big. He also managed to get it off so we had to use the regular cone from the vet.

  • Effective, Cute, A little big

    By on Top 1000 Contributor

This cone is adorable and keeps my cat from being able to lick his sutures, but it is pretty big which makes it hard for him to eat and drink while wearing it and he has a little trouble turning around if he walks into a corner while wearing it. It seems like he needs. Little more supervision while wearing this, so it does not really help for when I need to leave him and cannot watch him.

  • Super Cute!

This is so much cuter than the traditional 'cone of shame' collar from the vets, but it is also flexible. This is only a problem because it allows the dog to bend it back and access paws, or any other spots that are supposed to be off limits.

  • Cute and soft

I bought a size large for my 18 lb schnauzer after he had surgery on his front paw. It fit him perfectly. He did not mind wearing it and could navigate the house and his water bowl with ease. He was also able to sleep comfortably while wearing it. He had a hard time with the plastic e-collar so this one was just perfect. Not only did it keep him from licking his incision, he looked adorable while wearing it.
