Could not decide between two or three stars. I bought the two level cage. Pros It was bigger than I thought. Easy to put together. Cons When pulling out of packaging felt like little sand pieces falling out the frame. The screw holes don't keep the sides pieces form moving back and forth. The screw slots are not small enough to catch the head of the screws. The shelves don't feel very secure. They are just hooked into two slots One of the doors are not level with the other door.
So I purchased my baby bunny and firstly placed him in a wire cage somewhat dog cage. But as he got larger I wanted to 1. Elevate him from the floor. 2 Give him more space. 3. I wanted front door opening. But not only did I get these 3 things this cage also has shelves in the bottom which I loveeeeee because I don’t have much storage space so I put all his food and everything down there. It also has an upper lounge space which he likes every now and then!
I got a two story cage for my two chinchillas and they were both babies at the time. So when I added more things for them to jump on and off of , the wires could barely hold any of jumps without either bending or breaking wire. Besides that it is a good cage, I would just not recommend it for someone that has more than one chinchilla. As for a ferret it might be better since they don’t seem to need as much jumping space. NOT FOR MULTIPLE CHINCHILLAS. Overall the cage is very nice and easy to clean, I just wish the wire was a lot stronger.
I am a little upset because I paid more than $700 for two cages and both of them are either dented, warped, the metal is really scraped up, don't have the doors lined up and or have huge gaps and uneven bars. Overall the cage itself is nice if it did not have so many imperfections or broken parts. I really feel the quality of items I have purchased here lately have gone downhill. I used to have nothing but the best products every time they were ordered and delivered but it's really upsetting when you pay over $700 and this is the quality you get and are stuck with
I got this for a chinchilla. The pic shows the one lever but I got the two level cage. First major issue is once you put in a bolt you need to make sure its in the right place because they will not come back out. They just spin. My daughter was excited and tried to put it together and put the top of the cage on the bottom layer. The bolts wouldn't come back out so I couldn't fix the issue so I had to use quick ties to attach the cage to the base. Which I know is her fault but still if I could take the bolts back out I could easily have fixed it. The other issue is the small platforms are not the most secure. They wouldn't hold weight for a heavier animal. The chincilla is really light and at times it bounces with her on it. Also the doors are spring loaded and open all the way up which are nice if you have the room but the way the trays don't fully go against the walls there are always wood chips and stuff on the ground around the cage.
I just recently bought a chinchilla and really needed to upgrade his cage. So far he is really loving it! He has a ton of room to be able to run around and play. there is also a ton of room to be able to put hanging toys on the walls and eventually put ledges on them. the bottom of the cage is plastic so it does have to be covered as chinchillas can't have access to it. I don't think this would be as good for guinea pigs because there are many steep ramps in the cage but they are metal, which is perfect for chinchillas/ferrets. I got the two-story cage, and it really is worth it. It says you can't get the extension and make the third floor but if you were to fully secure it to a wall and make it stable it would probably be possible. there are some s scratches on some parts of the cage but it really doesn't bother me and there isn't a change to the integrity of it at all. I love having the storage on the bottom of the cage for little things. the most important part of this cage are the doors. they can all fully open which makes it super easy to clean the cage and to be able to pick my chinchilla up. they are super easy to open and pretty much noiseless when you do. Overall, I love this cage and I think the price is more than perfect and is a steal!
My ferrets firmly believe that there in a mansion now. Pictures do not show how big this cage actually is and even better the ease of setting it up
We bought the taller sized version of this for our Chinchilla. She was in a smaller habitat and wanted to give her more room to play and live. This is the perfect size for her. She loves bouncing up the ramps and having enough room to get all of her energy out. We also added a hammock for her at the top which is where you can find her most of the time. It was super easy to put together it took my husband and I maybe 20 minutes to fully assemble. The arms for the ledges were the only part that was a little tricky but once we got them to snap it it was a piece of cake.
I love this cage, great size and easy to clean. Only issues is each pan doesn't quite reach the edges so a ton of bedding/poo falls through the cracks or gets stuck. Also my cage came with some faulties. Missing a panel on one of the doors. And there are a few bars that were short and not connected so I had to do some makeshift magic.. Otherwise I love it.
I was hesitant about buying the two story cage due to the other reviews. But I’m 66 year old woman and put this together myself with no problems. It was a little heavy for me to get the second story up but I did it. The only complaint I have about it is the ramp going to the top part is too slick for my rabbit. Other than that it’s a beautiful cage.
