So, I've had 2 of these for my three cats, purchased last July. The cats absolutely love them and I eventually got over the heart attack I had every time I entered the same room and had to remind myself that it's a toy. But I had similar complaints as many of the negative reviews, mainly I felt I was going through expensive batteries like crazy. Then I started noticing that sometimes you need to stick some tweezers in the battery terminals and bend the metal strips that grip the batteries to strengthen the connection. Recently though, that wasn't working anymore. I'd do my usual thing and before screwing the cover on again I'd test it, and it would vibrate for a sec after pushing the button So, I've had 2 of these for my three cats, purchased last July. Then I started noticing that sometimes you need to stick some tweezers in the battery terminals and bend the metal strips that grip the batteries to strengthen the connection. Recently though, that wasn't working anymore. I'd do my usual thing and before screwing the cover on again I'd test it, and it would vibrate for a sec after pushing the button; but no matter how long I held the button I couldn't get more than a second of vibration. I was seriously about to throw it out and buy another one when I decided to see if the 3 screws holding the plastic underbelly on needed tightening. They were perfectly tight but I figured I might as well unscrew them and see inside. I took the tiny screws out, popped the plastic belly off, still had my finger holding the batteries in on the other side, and pushed the button. The vibrating motor is very visible and it ran perfectly. It's almost as if something was in its way, but there was nothing in there and the body casing doesn't interfere. SO I have no idea what I did or why it helped; but the thing runs like it did the day I bought it over 6 mos ago. I highly recommend this toy because the cats go insane over it and because it stops and goes on its own they don't seem to get bored of it. HOWEVER, buy a tiny screwdriver and be willing to tinker with it before you spend a fortune on batteries! … more

loved and lost, second one was even better
By catmominjersey on Feb 8, 2021
My cat needs a fair amount of interaction to get into play (he doesn't often engage in play on his own; a ball won't cut it for him) so this toy mouse is perfect to get him going and keep him engaged. I love that it has two settings, but you should be careful not to lose it or keep it "on" when it's not in use (one of its settings allows it to be dormant unless touched) otherwise the batteries wear down pretty quickly. (Chewy, you should sell the LR44 AG13 batteries on site! I need them for other toys too!) I lost track of our first mouse and quickly bought another--and it's even better! The new one seems to bounce off and redirect itself a lot better than the first one did. I'd buy it again
By Tony on Mar 2, 2021
I certainly like this and would buy it again. It's not very fast and doesn't stay on long enough. But when my kitten is in a different room, I'll turn it on and she comes running to play with it. This will not work on carpet. I just wish it was faster, would go further distance, and stay active for a longer duration. I think the concept is awesome and more toys should be available that are like this.

Nice when it actually works
By mouse on Feb 10, 2021
My cats both instantly loved this toy. One even picks it up by the tail as if a real mouse. Unfortunately it only runs for about 15 seconds, pauses, runs again for another 15 seconds then stops completely. I then have to pick it up, often wait a few minutes, then start it again. If I press the button without waiting - it won't start at all. By that time, the cat have lost the excitement about the mouse and so have I. I have tried pressing and holding the button but it doesn't help.

OMG so good
By Leila on Mar 3, 2021
I’ve an indoor outdoor cat who often hunts mice outside. She enjoyed this robot mouse as well. The action of this robot mouse is start stop, scurry pause scurry pause. It can go under the furniture and then will re-emerge, which is excellent. Great for burning energy on rainy days or simply getting the cat busy to amuse myself.

Wild chase
By BudPrin on Mar 3, 2021
My cats loved this mouse but it doesn't work on carpeted areas so it kept stopping when they "wacked" it onto that surface. I'm not exactly sure where it is right now because they chased it all over the place and I think it went under some furniture. We'll find it sooner or later. Or should I say "they'll" find it!

Defective product but loved while it worked
By Robinlhoody on Mar 1, 2021
So I ordered this for my cat Arty and he Loved it but within a day it stopped working. We bought new batteries costing $10.00 and it worked for a bit snd stopped. I called Chewy and they said they will send a new one but instead credited back part of the cost. I did not want the credit....I wanted a new toy.

EXCELLENT/no good
By jaxkat on Feb 21, 2021
This toy moves like a real mouse, starts, stops and turns on it's own, all very random movments. It's cute and pretty well made. I think any cat would love to play with it. I like it so much I bought another one and sent it to my son for his cat. However, my cat does not like it, she totaly ignores it and thinks that I wasted my money.

Fabulous when it works
By Interactive on Feb 22, 2021
Honestly, both my cats loved it (one is a maine coon and the other a 3 legged domestic). Unfortunately, it stopped working the first day. I switched out the batteries (the charger indicated they were good) and it worked for another shorter period of time and now it just won't run. The cats and I are both disapointed.

Cute, but not perfect
By Erica on Feb 3, 2021
A super cute option, but it came broken. The plastic ears were broken off from the start, i thought maybe I was supposed to attach them somehow but I think they were just snapped off. Not a huge deal, but still. The bigger thing is it doesn’t move on my rug and the sound it makes on the hardwood actually scares the cat and riles the dog up. Cute concept, but might not work on your carpet or rugs, even if it’s a short hair rug!
