My dog actually enjoys these treats. I thought because they were quasi-medicinal that she might not. But she gets excited every time they're offered. They are a little large for her, she's a smallish little dog - about 20 pounds. So I cut these in half and they're the perfect size. I just went through the whole bag and cut them all in half so they're ready. I read some of the other reviews that said they were too hard or dry. I figure if these start to dry out I'll just moisten them up with one of these ceramic things you soak in water - like for the brown sugar. Overall - I'll definitely buy these again and would recommend them.

My Chihuahua was recently diagnosed with kidney disease and I've had to change her diet, including her nightly hide 'n seek treats. I bought these because they are safe for kidney diets and they are labeled as "soft & chewy" which is perfect for an old dog that has lots of loose teeth. These treats, however, are not what I would call soft, they lean more to the firm side of the scale - not hard or crunchy, but not soft either. I break/crumble them into small pieces and she has no problem eating them. I'm not sure if I will buy more or not but I realize there's not a lot of soft treats for kidney disease diets.

Emmy is only 14 lbs, so the size of each treat is too large for her, and because she suffered the loss of her front lower teeth in the puppy mill in Mexico from which she was rescued, she needs very soft treats. These treats are cuttable so I can cut them up for her, but not easily.

Will these treats be soft or hard? When you open the bag they are soft and crumble. I can see where they would really dry out as stated in other reviews, but I keep my treat bag closed tight then double seal it. Also, I only use a quarter of the treat for my 20 lb dog. I break them up and store in a small canning jar with a tight lid. So far they stay soft enough for my oder dog to chew easily. He likes them for his dessert.

It’s stinky and hard but my dog loves it!

The treats are pretty hard but I was still able to break apart and it has a strange medicinal odor but my dog gobbles them up. My dog is also on the Hills Biome
