Every can damaged

This is the third time I've received a package of damaged cans from Chewy (first time was for the Hills C/D cans, so it clearly seems to be a warehouse issue). Two packages in a row of the Purina UR food have come with most of the cans damaged. The box was fine, so it wasn't FedEx's fault, the problem came from the Chewy warehouse and poor quality control. Every single can has a large dent in it. I cannot believe Chewy would sell food like this. Don't they know that dented cans can harbor botulism, which can KILL an animal? I'll throw these away, but I feel bad from the reviewer below who said they'll still feed their cat the cans, as they might not know that you shouldn't feed food from damaged cans, as even a small dent along the rim can be dangerous. The worst part is, when I called Chewy to ask for a refund for the damaged cans, they told me I had to package and return the cans. Why should I have to waste any of my time for their error, especially when the cans aren't resealable? Please do better Chewy, fix your warehouse quality control, or I'll find somewhere else to buy from.

I've gotten packages that contained damaged cans before but the packaging was damaged. Food was still good so I didn't complain as it must've happened during shipping, but today, the packaging was undamaged but cans were damaged. Food not exposed so I will use but this means they're coming from Purina damaged?.... these are prescription, Nevin has been doing great with this food but I'm now concerned with the damages cans. I can't change because Nevin is very picky but thought y'all should know. I've included collage can and previous damaged packages I referenced. Again I don't blame Chewy for damaged packages received with damaged cans, nor do I blame you for damaged cans received in pristine packaging. I just thought you should know.

Nutmeg suffers from crystals and idiopathic urinary tract disease. When I started her on this food, she did not have crystals but she’s been on a (struvite) prescription food for years. The problem is she’s tried them all and dislikes them all. She also takes medication for hyperthyroidism and although we check her levels all the time; she doesn’t keep weight on due to not taking in enough calories. This food has helped changed that. She eats it up and asks for more. If I had a complaint; we need more flavors. A pate would be ideal too because she’s already not as enthusiastic and likes to just lick off the gravy. Next, I’ll be mashing it or processing it myself - whatever it takes. Please, offer a pate or additional flavors! If you’ve tried all the other prescription, wet/dry foods; give this one a go. None of them are cheap but Nutmeg hates everything and she inhaled this.

Cat not ecstatic about it, and not sure it worked for him

I tried this prescription diet because my cat Rowdy was diagnosed with struvite crystals. I was skeptical about this food because it is advertised as helping control both struvite and oxalate crystals; however, one type of crystals in urine is due to too acid urine and other type of crystals is due to too alkaline crystals. I put in a question asking Purina how this food can help cure both types at once when the urine pH has to be adjusted one way or the other. I never received an answer explaining how one food can be effective for both types of crystals, when every other prescription diet helps control one type of crystals or the other but not both. Also, my cat wasn’t thrilled with this food, and I was not impressed with the ingredients the food was made from. I saw no reason to continue with this food if the manufacturer wouldn’t even answer my sincere questions about the food. I have found a couple other prescription diets that I’m much happier with, the manufacturers are up front about what is in their food to control the pH of the cat’s urine. So, because of all the above, I’m not inclined to recommend this food at all. It’s very expensive, I have no evidence it helped my cat, and I felt they did not respect my sincere question to understand how their product was supposed to alleviate the cat’s condition.

My cat was diagnosed with urinary crystals and this was the only UR prescription food he would eat. He tolerated really well and ate it for years. However, the cost increased significantly since Covid and I’m no longer able to afford it. If you can afford it, and you cat likes it, it’s a good food.

Great job on creating a product that helps with keeping urine/struvite crystals down or away. It’s just sad that I can’t afford to feed my cat this (or any of the other branded products to help with crystals). I paid 3k to save his life, he is just 5 years. Never had a single issue prior. Woke up to him in critical condition. ER vet on weekend + a box of food = a nervous breakdown. My husband was killed not even a year ago, my truck quit, I lost my house & my cat now needs to get a job to feed himself. SUCKS not being able to afford what my pets need. Regardless of how much someone makes, the prices for these foods are outrageous. Probably takes 6.00 to make the 50.00 flat.

When I first tried this brand I thought I found something she would eat without hesitation. However she eats it best when I open a new can. I think she prefers the turkey. I leave it out and by the morning she has eaten most of it, but she doesn’t rush to devour it when I first put it down

Tried all the other Urinary Prescription brands. They hated them all, but when I served the Purina they were happy. So now I'm left with a case each of all the others, but they are finally eating. What a relief. Only one cat Needs the UR but since they eat together I only serve that now so he won't try and eat the non-presciption (and tastier) food. Big hit to my budget but nothing compared to the $12,000 in surgical and intensive care costs. He's doing great so all is well!
