Continue to Canada siteRoyal Canin Urinary SO Moderate Calorie Thin Slices in Gravy is a veterinary-exclusive wet dog food developed to nutritionally support your adult dog’s urinary tract and bladder health. This formula promotes a urinary environment unfavorable to the formation of both struvite and calcium oxalate crystals. It increases the amount of urine your dog produces to help dilute excess minerals that can cause crystals and stones. Relative Super Saturation (RSS) methodology is used to help lower ion concentration in urine, which contributes to stone formation. Lower urinary tract issues may be a recurring concern for some dogs. Talk to your veterinarian about keeping your dog on this urinary dog food for long-term urinary support.

Just as many others have mentioned, this food is not what it used to be. There is no longer a gravy, but a thick yellow gel that looks like chicken fat. I called Royal Canin and they say the formula hasn’t changed. They said “With the best by and batch details provided, I have initiated a complaint with our Quality Assurance team.” Chewy.com did refund me. However, I am concerned that my dog won’t eat her food now because of this yellow gel. I can’t recommend this food until they can get this issue corrected.
The Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Adult Urinary So Moderate Calorie Thin Slices in Gravy Canned dog food quality has changed dramatically. It now has 1/4 can of thick disgusting jelly like substance over the food. And the slices of food are smaller pieces. By the time I drain and wipe the jelly like gravy off with paper towel, there is only 2/3 of a can of food left. Way too expensive for the quality!
My pug had a lot of urinary blockages and cost me A LOT of money and stress before we started using this years ago. I would have given 5 stars. BUT THE LAST YEAR OR SO, THE AMOUNT OF SOLID MEAT IN THE CAN IS MUCH LESS, IT IS MOSTLY GRAVY. Not cool. But, this product works for sure, I just want Royal Canin to up their game on quality
If my dog didn’t have to eat this prescription food because of kidney stones I would never order it as the cans are always dented and some big dents and I don’t think I got one shipment that wasn’t dented
Like some of the other recent reviewers, I see that the food is not the same as previous orders. The gravy is pale yellow globs of fat, where it previously looked like regular gravy. It made my little guy sick. Chewy's customer service is terrific and they are allowing me to return the remainder of the case. I did call Royal Canin to ask if the formula for this product has changed and was told that it has not. Their explanation is that the heat during shipping is causing the fat to separate from the meat slices. I would think that the heat would cause the fat to liquify, not solidify. Either way, my confidence in this product isn't great, and I am going to ask the vet about alternatives.
My comments are the same as several of the other recent reviews. We have been feeding this to our dog for a while since our vet recommended a lower calorie option. The last 2 shipments looked very different than the product we have been feeding our dog. So different that I contacted Chewy thinking the food had gone bad and I wasn’t willing to feed it to my dog. Chewy sent a return label, I packed all the cans back up (except the 2 I had opened- I opened 2 because the first looked nasty and I thought it might just be that can- nope!), and dropped it off to ship back. Chewy sent me another case, but unfortunately the food looked the same. I appreciate Chewy doing their part. I contacted the manufacturer and they say nothing has changed, which makes me even more skeptical since others are saying the same thing. I might have felt more confident feeding my dog the food if they said they changed the formula or something, but flat out saying it’s the same feels like a deliberate lie. I will be looking for a completely different line of food (we feed our dog both the dry and wet version of this) that I feel is more trustworthy.
Chewy always gets the Veterinarian's approval and ships quickly. The only suggestion I have, which is why I gave 4 starts instead of 5, would be to offer a half case of 12 cans, instead of 24. My dog is small and it takes a while to go through all of them, and I have very little space to store so many when they arrive.
I was concerned my Yorkie, who is very picky, would not like the veterinary diet he is now required to eat. To my surprise he loves it! In addition Chewy handled getting the prescription from the vet which was very convenient.
Dealing with Chewy was easy and I should have ordered with them a long time ago. The package was delivered when said. Thank you. My vet prescribed this food for my dog, I think it is over priced but that is not Chewy's fault.
We have been feeding this to our dog for over a year. It used to be really great quality food that our dog loved. The last 2 shipments have had a yellow fat appearing substance in the can. It’s been very frustrating as I don’t want to feed this to my dog. We are currently switching to a new product due to the poor quality this food has turned into. Will say though- Chewy has excellent customer service! Thank you for your help in addressing this issue Chewy!
