I want to be able to control the slider also. Is there a remote? if so, what is the range? Can you control via app?
Answer by ChewyJan 23, 2023
The four-button remote has a 75-foot range on it. The system can be controlled via the Autoslide app when you add on the Bluetooth module. You can also add the AutoPlus Gateway with the Bluetooth module to control from outside the home and use Alexa to control.

Do you need a special kind of patio door to use this, or will your average every day door work?
Answer by ChewySep 20, 2021
This product is designed to work with a single sliding panel as long as the sliding door runs smoothly without interference.

Can you still lock the door, like at night or when leaving town? What happens when someone pushes the button but the door is locked?
Answer by ChewyMar 03, 2021
As long as the track is installed correctly (with enough pressure on the motor wheel), if the door is manually locked and triggered to open the AutoSlide will detect it as locked and cease trying to open. This won’t incur any damage to the system, it’ll just need to be power cycled. A common installation error the manufacturer see's is users not mounting the track tightly enough to the motor wheel; in this case, if the AutoSlide is triggered when the door is locked, the motor wheel can slip and grind against the track. A good practice is to put the unit into Red Mode when manually locking the door, which will disable any pet sensors and any outside push buttons regardless.

Best Great Dane doggy door ever!

We love the Autoslider and would never go back to a standard doggy door. The initial price is a bit high, the instructions require a 2nd and 3rd look but once you start using it, it’s worth every penny! The company itself is wonderful, excellent customer service, although they can be a bit hard to get a hold of. They are a small company but will go above and beyond if there is ever a problem; they will walk you step by step through, replace parts and always seem to do the right thing. We have tried the motion sensors, mats and dog tags and ultimately found the tags are the easiest and work best for our crew with the batteries lasting ~4 months. Again, we cannot say enough good things about the Autoslider!

Love & Hate

Purchased and installed a year ago. We often have problems with the transmission between the dog tag and the Autoslide. We've also had to order seven additional tags for various reasons. Most have stopped working, one or two have been the victims of rough play. Now it's beginning to periodically open and not close although no dogs are near the door. One other thing worth mentioning is that the tags are fairly heavy and they often end up in the water dish when the dogs drink. Overall all when it's working properly we love this product. Would love to give it five stars, but cannot for the reasons stated.

Cooler, prettier solution than an insert

I was hesitant to order this product because the manufacturer's website wasn't great and there isn't a lot of reviews. I did contact the manufacturer on their website via chat and received a quick response which gave me a little more confidence. The first thing I will say is to download the latest installation instructions from the manufacturer's website. The included instructions leave out a lot of information that can make installation and programming confusing and frustrating. Once I found the better instructions off the website installation was pretty easy. Hiding the wires can be a challenge but I think mine turned out great. I like that you can program how wide the door opens and the duration the door remains open for your pet and for normal use. We have small children and have always been concerned about them getting a figure seriously injured in our slider, this product helped reduce that concern. The door closed slow enough for anyone to react and should a figure get stuck it may hurt a bit but you'll still have your figures. Yes, I tested it out. This product costs about the same as an insert with similar functionality but looks a lot better and has additional benefits.

Works pretty well for our dog!

After a lot of communication and instruction from Brandon from Autoslide, we finally got it working. It took over 3 weeks of trying different things and they had to send us a new part twice, but it is up and running now and I like not having a dog door inserted in our small sliding glass door. Our dog is getting used to the door opening up for her when she gets close. Sometimes it won't open right away because the key tag on her collar is hanging at an odd angle, but she has learned to be patient with it.
