  • I don't get it but my cats do

So, I bought this thing because I wanted to see what it was all about because everywhere I looked the Cat Dancer was being mentioned. When I received it, I unfurled it and as soon as I did, my cats all went bonkers! They were chasing, flipping, jumping, and pawing at it like I've never seen them do with any other toy I've bought for them. I tried to tape it to something like I've read some have done but it wasn't working in the same way it would had I been holding it. But every time I pick this thing up, my cats come running to me and wait for me to hold it out! They love it so much. I'm a little mad at myself that I'm not as clever to have created this amazing toy but I am glad it's in existence. Great product. It's cheap but it could be cheaper. … more

  • Dancin' for Joy!

I have never met a cat that didn't LOVE this toy. So simple you wonder why you didn't think of it. We have had six house cats over our lifetime and everyone has adored this toy. Recently I attended "a shower" for a new cat owner. This was my choice as a shower gift!!!!!!!! It is great to exercise our pudgiest felines and nonstop entertainment for others. I literally had to put the toy away when I left the house because one of our cats played with it by himself and did so nonstop if not monitored. He would do "coffee grinders" on the floor to chase it while holding it with one of his front paws.

  • Hands down the best cat toy in existence

    By on

Most cats get bored very quickly of toys, but this one has been going non stop since I received it a week or two ago. It bounces on it's own, making the path unpredictable. My smallest cat used to love to catch birds, and I have witnessed how she plays with live birds (sad but true). I think this thing kind of mimics a bird, because she treats it like that. The fat cat likes it as well. I play every day with them and they are not bored of this toy. Going to be buying another one on my next purchase because I am not sure how long the cardboard will last, but well worth the $3

  • Best classic cat toy!

    By on

I've been purchasing the cat dancer toy for over 20 years, and it's been a hit with all of my cats as well as the cats I've gifted it to. Left to my own devices I would have passed this toy by but since it was recommended I gave it a try. The cat dancer provides good exercise for cats and they have so much fun with it. You can use the toy to mimic ground prey and let them pounce on it, as well as mimic airborne prey and let them jump up to bat at it. Overall it's pretty long lasting depending on how much a cat likes to chew on the cardboard parts on the end.

  • If my 16 year old cat will play with this...

then any cat will! How some wire and cardboard (nope, don't even bother trying to make it yourself - costs more to do that and the wire needs the right kind of tension) make cats go nuts is beyond me... but I'm so happy it does! He needs the exercise to *ahem* stay regular and just in general, and there are times my fibromyalgia doesn't allow me to do the work I need to play with him. This is perfect. Hold one end, the other floats in front of their face eventually and then it's off to the races! They bat it and it can snap back at them or go flying away for them to chase. They may 'catch' it, but not for long due to the tension. This from a cat who will no longer chase flies or moths. then any cat will! • Cat Has Her Moments With This

    By on

This was really entertaining at first and for the simplicity of the design, it really does what it needs to. Inevitably my cat ended up liking the fleece charmer more, as we can tie toys to it, including catnip ones, and I can control where I throw the fleece. This got a little boring for her and it's not quite long enough to really mess with my kitty and tease her all around the house. I'm glad I purchased it, as I like to keep variety available in case kitty gets bored.

  • this is amazing

3 out of our 4 cats approve. Previously we were playing with them with the wand style toys, but they really get into this one with the bouncy/jerky movements. My tiny little tortie thinks I bought this just for her, and will sit by waiting for you to stop playing with the larger cats. She parties so hard with it she often goes for a long drink of water from the fountain within 20 minutes after play. It's so simple, cheap, and definitely effective.

  • Best toy ever

    By on

All four of my kitties, who often ignore toys I buy them, go bonkers for this toy. Such a simple concept, but super effective. They will chase if for hours. We've had it for 2 months and it is fraying some (it is made of cardboard) but that is from my 4 cats attacking it almost everyday, carrying it around and fighting over it. It's super cheap so not a big deal if they destroy it, I will definitely buy again if (and probably when) that happens.

  • Easy Fun Interaction

    By on

For anytime you feel tired, weak, ache-y or just plain too lazy to run around with your cat, the Cat Dancer comes to the rescue. The pre-formed spring in the wire means you only have to hold it, maybe move your thumb a 1/4" and the wire flies around, with your cat in tow. I've yet to meet a cat who can resist this one. Yes, mine do eventually chew the paper completely off, but mostly they just bat it around. I can't recall how long these last precisely, but it is a great value. I consider these a must have.

  • A wire with a few rolls of cardboard is so much fun!

    By on

My triplet 4 month olds go crazy when I get this down from its hiding lace on top of the fridge! It's just a very springy piece of wire with some tightly rolled up paper pieces, but my girls do Olympic worthy leaps, jumps and flops trying to snag this silly thing! Easy entertainment for half hour at least!
