The Lixit Retractable Cable Dog Tie Out is an in-ground tie-out system that gives pets the freedom to roam. A steel stake keeps it securely planted in the ground, and the retractable cable attaches to the collar with a durable steel spring clip. The top rotates 360 degrees to give pups a large roaming area without getting all tangled up in the cable.
360-degree rotation avoids tangles and gives your dog the most freedom
Heavy-duty steel stake stays buried in the ground
Sturdy, steel-coated cable in steel housing stays firmly in place, retracts when not in use
Provides a large roaming area for your pup
Colorful stripe keeps top visible and prevents tripping
It is always best to use a harness with your tie out. Some dogs do not like the constant “tug” at the neck; a harness always provides more control and comfort for your dog.
The “T” is provided to enable you to drive the stake into the ground without striking the unit directly, use caution when striking, if you lose this piece you can use a piece of wood over the nut to hammer into the ground. Do not remove the acorn nut from the housing and strike the pole directly. Do not strike the housing directly.
After firmly pushing/hammering the stake into the ground, up to the white line just below the housing you may attach your dog. It is best to walk your dog out to the length of the tie out so he has an idea of how far they can go.
A Tie out is meant to be a temporary control for your pet and should not be used for extended periods of time. Always supervise your dog while tethered.
Do not release the cable tie out when fully or partially extended, this could cause the cable
Bought 2 of the small. Clearly whoever designed this product only owned medium to large dogs and did not consult with small dog owners. This item is not suitable for dogs 20lb or under. The swivel hook is for a dog well over 30lbs and noway will my 8 pound doxi be able to pull out the cording.

We purchased this tie out to take our dog camping. We love it because we don't trip over it.
Too much for a 17 pound dog

This retractable dog tie is really strong and well made but it’s definitely too much for our dog. She gets pulled back to the unit and is stuck there.
lasted 2.5 years! need to buy another

We use these 5-6 times a year when we go camping & take our dogs. They’ve always worked well for us. We are hard on them. Just busted one this past weekend, will be purchasing another.

We got this for our two big dogs to go camping and it pulls so hard coming out of the retracting piece both of our dogs just stood there and one is a lab and other is a german shepard/Belgian mix so they aren't sensitive. Not happy with it.

The retractable dog cable is a great way to have your dog with you outside in an unfenced area and not have to be constantly chasing them to return. We have a new puppy and this has been awesome for us as she hasn’t learned all the commands yet. We can bring her out, hook her up anywhere since it is easily installed or removed from the ground so we can work in the yard. Or just take her out and let her roam. The cable is about 20 ft long so that’s a pretty good area of movement. And she can’t get tangled up in it. Only thing to consider is that the cable tension is pretty high so a very little dog would have difficulty pulling it out to move around. Our puppy is 12 lbs and is ableThe retractable dog cable is a great way to have your dog with you outside in an unfenced area and not have to be constantly chasing them to return. Did not last long

We bought this in mid-april, due to delayed shipping plus us not putting it out right away, we probably started using it approximately one month ago and our pup only uses it maybe twice a day on nice days, for 30 minutes to one hour each. The hook is completely rusted and broke off.
not good quality

Broke already. Cable stopped retracting. Unable tp repair. Would not recommend.
Too heavy duty for Chihuahuas.

This tie out is meant for small dogs under 30lbs and is the smallest size available. It is way to heavy duty for a small dog. My chihuahua weighs 5lbs and the clasp is huge and heavy. She also has to struggle to pull the retractable cord out.
Not long lasting

Very good product for a short period of time. My 5 lb. mini dachshund has used 3 of these and every couple 2 to 3 months the cord will not retract anymore. The coating peels off and frays easily.
