Merrick is Constantly Inconsistent

I have no idea what is going on with Merrick brand cat food. I had issues with the Duck canned food a few months ago being inconsistent with their formula, one case had no gravy and was extremely dry, the next case I opened every can had so much greasy liquid in it and the meat was like lava. I just opened the most recent case of Thanksgiving Day Feast and the Duck. The Thanksgiving Feast always had visable whole peas and chopped carrots in the can. This case(see image) has no vegetables anywhere, the color and consistency is not the same as in the past. My one cat refuses all other food EXCEPT Thanksgiving Feast-its their favorite. When I gave them the food this morning, they refused to eat it-I tried to give it to my other 4 cats-they all refused it as well! So now I have this case I can't do anything with. Getting very weary of Merricks inconsistencies. I just happened to place another order for the Duck canned yesterday taking a chance in the hope that they straightened out that issue. If not, looks like I will no longer be ordering canned food and will be making it homemade for my cats-at least Id be able to know what is going into my cats food and control it myself. Merricks quality control is lacking beyond the acceptable point. Shame on you Merrick!

Don't waste your $ on it

My 3 cats did not like it. It is NOT MINCED It is like a pate thick with a few chunks . The only reason I gave 2 stars is because my stray eats it..but he is not crazy about it. Don't bother with it..honestley!!

Some like some don’t

Whenever I buy a case of Merrick, it’s a great hit at first then just so so. At first every cat gobbles it down then about half through the case they start to walk away, go figure! Overall the company seems to make good quality food and will continue to buy.

Really wanted to like

Merrick is usually a great choice for my cats but this was weird; it really looked like they took thanksgiving dinner and put it in blender. They ate around the peas and other vegetables. I would recommend this for those that aren't as finicky.

Possibly tainted due to weather

I have purchased the Merrick Thanksgiving dinner often from various sellers. Because I was running low on my boys other brand I pre-bought a bunch of it. I keep it inside in my pantry but when I opened a can last week, NONE of my four cats would get near it when usually they jump right in. I am guessing with the weather we have had that it sat on a Fed Ex van and froze then thawed multiple times. My only guess but I would not recommend it now.

not their favorite

Our two cats are not very enthusiastic about the Thanksgiving Day Dinner flavor of Merrick wet food. They love the other flavors we've tried so far, which include tuna, surf & turf, chicken, and duck. With the Thanksgiving Day Dinner, they leave some in their bowls. One specifically eats around the the whole peas that are in the can. The others flavors are pates and this one is minced in gravy, so maybe that's the difference?

This product is really fresh & withstood the 24 hr in the frig test. Few products do that, and I consider this very important, but this is not the final say on all Merrick products. This product is, however, fresh. It says "minced" but it appears more like a packed chunky loaf. It looks nice. It must taste really great because my kitty gobbles it down too fast, & if I don't portion it a little at a time, she immediately gobbles it down & might vomit right away due to eating too fast. She loves it. It is not too high in fat, which is important, looks great, smells great, & although I have her regularly on an organic company food, I like to give this to her on some weekends. It has a small amount of carrageenan & is not organic. But it apparently tastes like a Thanksgiving Dinner according to the speed in which my kitty gobbles this down each & every time--it's a treat for her. It has some healthy extras in it, also. Worth trying out. I initially got this at a local store & was hoping for the smaller size which they do have--not sure about Chewy.

Not as good as used to be

Back in the day, we used to purchase this flavor for our cats and they loved it. Bought it recently and maybe there were some ingredient changes since then, because they don't care to eat it.
