I'll give you a real answer: The length is the same. The difference is how wide the circular portion is. The medium is a 10 inches in diameter and the large is 12 inches in diameter. There is no other change.

The only drawback is we can’t figure out how to close it back up; but then, we really don’t need to worry about it, because we won’t be putting it away any time soon.
