Purina Pro Plan Sport All Life Stages High-Protein Active 26/16 Formula Dry Dog Food, 37.5-lb bag

I switched to Purina Pro Plan a year ago after learning that it is AAFCO tested and one of only five brands that meet WSAVA standards. Was looking for a grain-inclusive kibble that didn’t contain peas, legumes, and potatoes and this fits the bill. She also can’t eat beef or lamb so I was so happy to find this has chicken. My Catahoula Leopard Dog (18 months old/65 lbs) has both a sensitive belly and a discerning pallet. First tried Pro Plan Sensitive Skin & Stomach (was ok) and then Savor (where picked out the meaty bits and left the kibble). She’d eat them...eventually. And usually only after I added a topper of some sort, but sometimes not even that would convince her to eat the kibble. After reading dozens of reviews and nutrition labels I decided to give this a try. SHE LOVES IT!!! I never have to entice her by adding a topper and the kibble doesn’t just sit in her bowl. She is excited to dive right in every time even after a few weeks! Her coat looks great and she’s shedding less. She’s active but not doing any hunting or agility (unless you count jumping up on the couch. ;) and her weight is maintained well. And best of all is that it doesn’t bother her sensitive belly and her once-a-day poops are firm and less stinky. Can’t recommend this kibble enough!

Transitioning my adult standard poodle and two toy poodle puppies to this was easy. I transitioned over the course of 8 days. No loose or soft stools, very minimal gas during the transition week, and no vomiting. All three are very enthusiastic about eating it and my smallest poodle, who is only 4 pounds, is able to eat this size kibble easily. I can't comment on how their coats are yet, but after they finish the second bag, they should have enough hair growth for me to compare how their coat was on their previous food. Highly recommend.

This dry dog food from Purina was recommended to us by our breeder, Pam. She breeds Golden Retrievers for both show and personal pleasure and has done it for many years. We recently got our second one, Jake, from her after our first one died a year ago at 13. She uses this blend of Purina Pro Plan Sport for all of her puppies and they are all very beautiful and healthy. Jake is doing so well now at 7 months that we will keep him on it for all of his life. Now that he is older, we have started to mix in 2 tablespoons full of Pro Plan Savor canned meat, vegetables and gravy with his 2 daily meals and he, especially, loves that! I recommend this diet for every dog!

Fewer calories than pro plan performance sport but with all the benefits of Purina’s research as to what dogs really need to be healthy. My Labrador loves it. Her coat is brilliantly shiny and her weight is perfect. She had GI problems eating designer brand dog food that appealed to me as a human. Don’t be fooled by the hype and pretty packing. Give your dog food that the picky show dog people have preferred for decades: Purina.
