Calming? No
By SpecialAgentGibbs on Mar 4, 2021
Our dog is anxious when left in home with no humans. We have other dogs, so he is never truly alone. He destroys (eats) things when we go out, even if we are only gone for 20 mins. We have tried so many different things, toys, chewys, crating, CBD treats and though maybe this adjustable collar would help calm him some. It did not! The collar goes on quite easily, and quickly. But after wearing for a week, he was able to get out of it.

Amazing product!
By Debjandy on Feb 15, 2021
My 13 yo shihtzu has been displaying symptoms of dementia, and the worst was 5-7 days/week she would get disoriented after going downstairs to use her pee pad and getting a drink of water and not be able to find her way back up the stairs and start barking...even with lights on...oh, and always between 3-4am, of course. I’ve tried Murphy’s Law out by saying “the collar works, see she is’t doing it anymore.” And even by jinxing myself, it still works! So...maybe it’s a coincidence?? I don’t know/care, it’s working and she’s even more calm, the groomer noticed too. Love this product!

Other dogs smell it on your dog's collar!
By 3Beasties on Feb 28, 2021
I purchased this for my first dog, who has always been a little anxious, but who has been having real problems since I brought two new dogs into our family. While he seems a little more relaxed, I noticed that the other dogs started hanging out closer to him--they were getting a hit of calming pheromones too! I may try the diffuser next.

game changer
By adaptil on Jan 26, 2021
Our youngest pug has a great deal of anxiety such as, if we try to pick her up when the other dog is around she will attack the older dog and she also attacks the older dog every time she gets on the bed at night before we sleep and when she jumps on the couch when the older dog is already there. All of these situations usually would result in a growling match with major aggression but since wearing this collar there has been very few incidents and our anxious pug seems a lot more relaxed and lovey. I am so happy for her. We’re completely surprised by the effects this collar has brought and we’re so happy about it. I had low expectations and still can hardly believe it!

Jury is still out on effectiveness
By AKB126 on Jan 19, 2021
We bought these at the recommendation of our vet. We’re trying alternatives before we turn to meds. We have an anxious/fearful dog and her issues have gotten worse during the COVID pandemic while we’ve been home. The collar is easy to figure out and put on. But, the collar is activated by your dog’s body heat and we found it difficult to have it tight enough for it to warm up but then not be too tight on our dog’s neck. We also didn’t notice any improvement in our dog’s behavior for the first month with the first collar. We have another month to go, we’ll see...

Adaptil Collar
By Christy on Jan 23, 2021
My dog was having such high anxiety and acting weird. I took him to my vet and she said he was probably beginning stages of dementia and she suggested the Adaptil calming collar. She uses it on her own dog. Within 3 days my dog became a new dog. Just like his younger self. No more high anxiety issues. I was very skeptical of the claims on this collar but I am a big believer now.

Not great for extremely reactive/anxious dog
By Katie on Jan 14, 2021
My recently adopted dog is bark-y by nature, but I was hoping that this collar would at least somewhat mitigate the reactiveness and fear he experiences on walks and in response to knocks at the door. In the ~week he wore it, it didn't seem to even take the edge off, and there were a few situations where it seemed like he got amped up even more. That being said, this collar is clearly not a substitute for consistent behavioral training and shouldn't be used as one if that's what your dog is requiring!

Didn't work for my baby, but might work for yours. Read all the reviews
By Moosesmom on Dec 24, 2020
After being recommended by my Vet because my Shihtzu chews his tail a lot, is nervous, etc., I bit the bullet and ordered the collar. I don't know if it's possible, but it seemed to make my Moose AGGRESSIVE. He's a barker - when anyone other than myself, my husband, or our son is coming toward him. But he's not really aggressive. Less than three days after putting this on his neck, he started jumping at the door (it has glass panes) so hard that I was afraid he would break the glass and hurt himself. When our neighbor walked over (before, he'd bark but kind of hide behind me - he's a rescue with a bad past with people) he jumped at him instead of his usual behavior. Took the collar off and he has calmed down. Does he still chew his tail? Yes. He has, since our big dog that he played with crossed the rainbow bridge. We play with him, exercise him, etc. He just has a hard time with grief and with nerves. But the collar, while it may be a good idea for others, didn't work for us. … more

did the opposite
By Pagrammie on Jan 6, 2021
We have a dog who was abused in her previous situation. At the time we tried this collor she would shake when approached by a human. Within hours of putting this collar on, she was trembling constantly. We left it on 3 or 4 days jic. When the trembling didn't stop we removed the collar and she improved almost immediately. We now use CBD oil daily and she has improved substantially. She allowed us to approach her and pet her while she was standing!! She even allowed me to hug her!

Doesn't work unfortunately
By Marieoo on Feb 2, 2021
Doesn't work for my dog at all. It's been a couple weeks, basically useless. We are working on separation anxiety and wanted a slight medical aide, but this isn't it. OTC hemp/CBD drops and tryptophan treats also don't work - if you have a serious issue just get an Rx from your vet
