Description

When you have an anxious dog, a simple trip to the veterinarian can become a huge hassle. So, help calm your pup before leaving the house with Adaptil calming spray. Instead of tranquilizing your pet, Adaptil releases specific pheromones that naturally appease and calm dogs—it's like sending your pal comforting messages through his nose. These messages are completely odorless and will only be perceived by your dog, so you, your cats, and other animals won't feel a thing. Simply spray your car, wait 10 minutes, and bring your best bud along for the ride. It's a terrific way to help your pup relax on the way to the vet or during long car, train or airplane trips—it can even be sprayed into his carrier to ease anxiety during crate travel. With Adaptil, you and your favorite canine companion can make travel fun again.

Key Benefits
  • Utilizes the power of natural pheromones to create a sense of safety and calm.
  • Spray in cars, crates or on your dog's favorite plush toy to make traveling less scary for him.
  • Designed to help make travel and vet visits less stressful for you and your furry best friend.
  • May help to reduce crying, shaking and pacing during travel—for your dog, of course.
  • Natural canine pheromone is only detected by dogs—so it's safe to spray around your feline friends and won't affect you or your human family members.
Precautions

Never spray Adaptil directly on your dog and never spray in the carrier if your dog is inside.

Doesn't seem to help much on my dogs.

    By on Top 250 Contributor

I've tried this on all 3 of my dogs before travel. They still stress out and shake and pant the same when headed to vet. It may have helped some with a strong thunderstorm that came through. They all had usual calming pills given before storm and then I sprayed on dog beds. They ended up sitting on me on the couch instead. I have tried spraying on the dogs beds a few times as well. They will sniff and avoid the beds for a couple of hours. I'll use up the rest of the spray but do not plan to repurchase. It doesn't work well enough for my dogs.

    Calmer travel

    By on

My 6yo lab is very anxious in the car (heavy panting, refuses to lay down, presses himself into the corner). This makes travel very difficult. My vet suggested the Adaptil spray in conjunction with a Thundershirt for a road trip to Key Largo. What a difference! He was calm enough to lay down and there was no stress panting! And it wasn’t just the Thundershirt which had been used on previous shorter road trips and didn’t have the same affect. I have also tried using this combination when I know fireworks are going to be launched and again it doesn’t have the same affect.

    Help for stressed pup

    By on

My new pup was displaying some resource-guarding behavior that was going to get him in trouble with the older dogs. An animal behaviorist recommended this and it really does help to mellow him out. Of course, it does not replace the training and behavior modification that he needs, but I believe the calming effect facilitates learning.

    It works for sure!

    By on

My Jazzie calms down minutes after having the spray at home when thunder is in the air. At the vet I think the effect is a bit less but she's a very nervous patient and it does help her at the vet as well....it works and I would highly recommend it. No side effects and she feels better once it's on. Truly calming. She paces when thunder is in the air and lays right down after wearing her adaptil scarf.

    This stuff works

    By on

I was introduced to Adaptil from my vet when my dog was upset being there. It really calmed her down, so instead of spending three times more getting it from my vet I just ordered it from chewy. I loaned it to a friend when they were going on vacation. It really calmed their dog down.

    Peace at last

My poor 5 year old pup started running and hiding in the night. My sister brought me a small bottle of this 1 day. Tried it. It certainly helped. He still hides once in a while but mostly stays in bed and sleeps the night away

No effect on my GSD pup

    By on

My vet recommended this and we sprayed the car down with it (and use the diffusers) and could not tell any difference in our 90 pound German Shepherd pupper. She is super anxious and it had no effect on her whatsoever. Back to the drawing board!

I was told this would calm my dog during thunderstorms. Also, panting, shaking and barking. Followed the instructions to the letter...it did nothing. Tried the product 3 different times same reaction...nothing.
