how old does a puppy have to be to use it

When using this training collar, your dog should be at least 6 months old and should already be able to understand basic commands.

Training Collar

So far we haven't used it much but I'm happy with the Pet Spy training collar. I love that it has multi level for vibration. We got it for my deaf dog so she needs the vibrations. I also like that it has 3 functions. The remote contains a lanyard and also has a belt clip. Love that it's waterproof! One thing I wish is that the charger has a split cable to charge the collar and handheld remote at the same time, as it stands, they must be charged separately.

Exactly as advertised

The instructions are easy to read. It performs well in rainy conditions, although its waterproof capability is still uncertain. However, its appearance suggests that it is waterproof. Ensure that the contact points are securely positioned on the dog. Initially, when I used the 'shock' feature, the dog did not exhibit any response as I gradually increased the intensity. Even at level 10, there was no reaction. However, when I adjusted the collar, the dog responded at a much lower intensity. At levels 3-5, the sensation is mild enough to cause annoyance to the dog. If you find yourself needing to go beyond level 10, it is recommended to test it on yourself or your spouse first, as it may not be necessary.

Great Training Tool!

Our rescue Border Collie had numerous triggers making it challenging to walk her on a leash for months. However, after letting her off the leash she would go off property in circles and run away. Thaks to the petspy training collar, we were able to gently show her the property boundaries and allow her to stay outdoors for extended periods of time. She even guards our chickens by sitting quietly in front of their coop. If she gets close to the boundary the collar provides a gentle vibration that immediately prompts her to turn around. I would definitely recommend this adjustable collar and remote for any dog, regardless of their size or breed!!

Excellent product

Using this device was very effective in training my dog to stop being aggressive towards our neighbors across the fence! After just a few days she stopped posturing aggressively towards them and now ignores them. I only had to use the shock option twice and now just use a beep or vibrate to redirect her attention. This tool is great for training dogs who struggle to obey commands when offleash in a fenced-in backyard.
