    For back/bench seat vehicles only!

By Tabicat on Feb 10, 2021

I love how this attaches to the headrests! BUT: Please look closely at the pictures provided and note that if you have bucket seats with a cutout/console area, your dog can still get through below the bottom of this barrier. I thought this was taller than it is and need to purchase something else that covers my console area as I use it in the back seats (not the cargo area). The extenders on the ends of this barrier are thin. If your dog makes an attempt to push through they can certainly be bent. Be certain to make them a bit shorter than needed if you plan to open your windows, as the bars can become caught as you raise and lower the the windows.

Nice but won’t fit all vehicles

By Bradley on Jan 25, 2021

The item is well made and the design and attachment method is very nice. Due to the solid bar used to sit atop the rear seat and clamp against the headrest supports, there must be a clear path between the headrest supports. The 2003 Yukon I was fitting this rack into does not have that clear path. The manufacturer should have a list of vehicles it will fit to prevent purchases by those whose vehicles cannot accommodate it.

    Check head rests

By Hamsterchick on Feb 5, 2021

We bought a 2014 dodge durango with leather seats and thought this would be perfect. What we didn't know was our head rests in the back seat don't move up at all. Make sure you check your head rests before you buy! This will not work if they don't.

I really wanted this to work....

By SVeller on Dec 23, 2019

I think this would work if you have a mellow dog that is easily deterred from moving around in a vehicle. I have a 55lb Labradoodle and it took her less than 5 mins to figure out how to squeeze through and bending the pole. She was in the front seat in no time.

Like a lot better than floor to ceiling kind I have in other vehicle

By MtnMel on Sep 15, 2019

I have 2 Subarus, the first one I put in a floor to ceiling barrier and the tension had to be so tight to keep the dogs in the back that it was really pressing into the roof of the car. I purchased this one for our second Subaru and I like the design a lot better! First, it was so much easier to install. I also put one of the hooks on the center head rest in order to make it possible to put down just the small side of the seat (I frequently carry skis in the car without the dogs). You can also put down both seats with the item installed. If I did need to put down just the big side on occasion, it was so easy to install it really wouldn't be a big deal. Because it only connected to the headrests, it isn't damaging the car. It does press lightly on the roof on the very ends, but that's it. I have 2 medium to large size dogs and no issues with escaping so far. The 35lb dog does like to put her head through the side to keep an eye on us, but she is unable to get her body though. … more

    Not good for active dog

By Mycomment on Apr 14, 2019

I think this would be best for a low energy dog who is happy staying put. If your dog is active or wants to try to get in the back seat of a suv then he will bend the hollow pieces of metal that you adjust. Not sure why the company went with this weak material when the rest of the design is fine. I'm in the process of modifying it so it works the way i want it to for my dog.

Good product. It is an obstruction, a barrier.

By NickName on Mar 23, 2019

The product has held up well for a year now. If it is going to work for you it is easy to install-my vehicle a 2014 Subaru Outback. It provides a barrier, a reminder, does not create a Stalag. The extension rods can rattle if you drive over rough roads a lot . A couple of rubber bands solved the problem for me. I can imagine some aesthetically minded folks coordinating the rubber band color with their interior. The device does not touch or mar the headliner of the car. A smart dog can be quickly trained to respect the barrier as other things in their life.

    Chevy Equinox

By cartether on Mar 2, 2019

Installing this product took a bit of maneuvering since my back seats dont have adjustable headrests. I had to work the bottom clamps under the padded part and around the bar. I expect this to permanently deform the rear head rests though I was able to do it without affecting the look or comfort of the head rests from the back seat. where the passengers sit. it keeps both my Lab mix and my Pitbull secure in the back. My Lab does stick his head though the bottom bars between the head rest and the side of the cat but he cant fit. I was able to install this myself with a little effort but now that it is in it sits securely.
