Description

Blue Buffalo Naturally Fresh Multi-Cat Quick-Clumping Cat Litter offers pet parents incredible odor control and long-lasting absorbency. It's so absorbent, it takes less litter to get the job done, which means each bag goes a lot farther and less is wasted. Made from a proprietary blend of the fibrous materials found in the walnut shell, this litter neutralizes litter box odors better than clay, pine and wheat. It produces harder clumps than pine, corn and wheat in as little as 15 minutes, making clean-up simple and mess-free. Unlike clay litters which throw off silica dust, Blue's Naturally Fresh is virtually dust-free so you and your cat can breathe easy. And because it doesn’t stick to your cat’s paws, it won’t be tracked throughout your house.

  • My 4 cats LOVE Blue Buffalo Walnut-Based Multi-Cat Clumping Cat Litter

    By on

Blue Buffalo Walnut-Based Clumping Cat Litter has been wonderful to use--I've used it now for more than a year, and although, overall, it's a bit more expensive than the, admittedly, cheapest clay-litter I used to use, OVERALL I know that my cats aren't aren't inhaling or ingesting the harmful clumping agent, sodium bentonite, nor the silica that is inherent in clay litter. And I know that me and my family aren't breathing it in either. To be honest, I find that my kitties still track some of the walnut litter into the main part of the house, but it's less than the clay litter--and probably because I didn't see the clay dust that was really present! I love that the walnut litter keeps down the smell TOTALLY (unless, of course, the kitty doesn't cover its own poop, but that's just physics), and my bags of kitty waste are down almost by half thanks to the absorbency of the walnut litter--you just have to be a little more diligent when scooping because if you're careless, you are throwing away good litter. This has been a great change for me and my kitties. … more

  • NO dust, clumps great, controls odor, all natural formula. Love it!

    By on

Several years ago, I tried another brand of walnut litter that performed poorly with regard to odor and clumping so I was hesitant to try this. My goal was to reduce litter dust and clumping chemicals for a cat with multiple environmental allergies but I needed a litter that would perform well for several cats. I did not find anything that met that criteria to my satisfaction till I tried this. Blue Buffalo Walnut litter meets all my expectations. The allergic cat is doing better with this all natural, no dust formula, the litter performs well, and is much cleaner in the home with several cats and litter boxes. Costs more but as long as the formula remains all natural and effective, I will continue Several years ago, I tried another brand of walnut litter that performed poorly with regard to odor and clumping so I was hesitant to try this. • Great for cats with respiratory issues

    By on

When I used clay litter, one of my cats would have serious coughing and sneezing fits to the point where I began to seriously worry. After researching the woes of clay litter, I found this and it's the best litter alternative to clay that I've used thus far. I've tried many others like pine and corn, but this has been the very best. My cat almost never coughs anymore, and I haven't heard a sneeze from him in a very long time. Obviously, it isn't clay so it doesn't "clump" as quickly as clay would, and it doesn't have chemicals in it to create this action either. But it cakes up the urine pretty well after setting, and the odor protection isn't too shabby either. I have two cats and I dump about every 2 weeks, scrape it every other day. One 26-lb bag for two cats will usually last me about 5 weeks so it's worth the price. I've been using this litter for two years now and I don't plan on switching any time soon. The only real flaws with it are what others have mentioned: some of the bags' qualities vary in dustiness. And, one of my kitties who is white tends to come out with brown dusted paws from time to time which isn't appealing. But the pros outweigh the cons. … more

  • No more dusty litter in my house!!

    By on

I have 2 cats' and three litter boxes. I love this litter because of no dust residue or tracked litter getting all over my house. It is made from crushed walnuts from trees in the USA (and not from foreign tree sources). It needs care when scooping because it can fall apart BUT it is much better for my cats' health and mine actually. This litter, if you scoop it twice daily is suppose to last almost three weeks which saves you some money. You need to keep the litter level three inches at all times. I am very happy I discovered this litter!

  • I Like it, cats love it, have bought it 3x so far

    By on

I love that it's natural. One of the kittens I adopted in August has allergies and when I originally found this, it was on clearance at a local store so I tried it. The smell is very musty to me but the cats love it the best. There was no question what litter they like best. For 3 cats, I have 5 litter boxes. I have the clear crystals(they like), traditional(ok), 2 feline pine(ok) and this(love). Myself I like the scent of the feline pine the best..I never smell anything bad but the cats love this one paws down

  • Alright for the price

    By on Top 1000 Contributor

I operate a cat sanctuary and scoop over 20 litter boxes twice a day, every day. For years we used Fresh Results litter and were very satisfied but unfortunately the price more than doubled and was no longer within the budget. So the hunt was on for a new biodegradable litter. A friend recommended this litter. It is not the best clumping litter I have ever used at the sanctuary and I am not especially impressed with its odor control either. But until I find something better, this will have to do.

  • Cats hesitant at first....

    By on

I saw this at a race expo and decided to try it because it smelled pretty decent. At first our cats were hesitant to use it (probably because the smell was different, a change in what they were used to). I mixed it with our prior litter and they remained unsure but used it. Now they use it without reservation (no mixing necessary). I never notice any urine smell, it clumps well and there is minimal dust. Again, it took our cats some getting used to but with the initial "mix" method, it is now out litter of choice.

  • not dust free, not even close

    By on

if it were dust free, this would have gotten 5 stars. it clumps well/hard, controls odor, and does pretty much everything it claims to do, except it's not dust free. i have a couple of asthmatic cats, and being dust free is crucial. i love how natural and mild this product seems. i really wish it were dust free. when scooping the litter to clean, there's tons of dust that floats up. too bad, so sad for me. my search for an asthma friendly dust free, fragrance free, natural litter continues!

  • Blue Rocks!

    By on

This litter is the best that I have ever used after 30+ years of pet ownership. It is light enough for me to carry, this is a big issue for seniors and I'm able to pick up this bag. The odor control is again, much better than clay litter. The amount used is less than regular litters. The cost is more, but offset by using less litter. The fragrance of the litter is natural without sweet, flowery smells. They do have a litter with fragrance for those who prefer that. My cats, two of them, had no adjustment issues when I changed over. Love the Blue!

  • BB Cat litter

    By on

We are still switching over from another litter brand. We were using a clay litter. While it did clump, it didn't really absorb the odors. I read an article recommending the Blue Buffalo and thought we'd give it a try. It wasn't as expensive as some of the other brands and I like the walnut. It's not as dusty and I don't notice the litter box smell as before. It clumps, though the clumps aren't as big as the old brand so it should last longer.
