Don't Dread the Shed

Dealing with shedding feels like an uphill battle to most cat lovers. While you may never stop your precious furballs from shedding, you can help to reduce the amount of hair your pet sheds with FURminator. Designed by a professional groomer, this tool reaches beyond the topcoat to remove loose hair from the undercoat. It pulls away loose hair without hurting your cat's skin or damaging his undercoat.

Don't Dread the Shed
The Gentle Grooming Solution

The Gentle Grooming Solution

Chances are, if you're a pet parent, it shows—and not always in a good way. From your couch to your favorite sweater, cat hair can get everywhere. FURminator products work to tackle your shedding problems in the comfort of your own home by targeting the loose hairs of your pal's undercoat without hurting your kitty.

The FURminator Advantage

When it comes to fur, no two breeds are alike. For example, did you know that some cats have two coats? There's a topcoat—the fur you see—and an undercoat, which you don't. With a unique deShedding edge, FURminator reaches through the topcoat to remove loose hair hiding in the undercoat. Regular brushing grooms your kitty's topcoat, but only de-shedding removes the loose hairs before they shed.

The FURminator Advantage
Less Hair, Less Cleaning

Less Hair, Less Cleaning

FURminator deShedding tools can help cut down on your cleaning time by removing loose hair before it ends up around the house. That's because most of the hair you get stuck cleaning up—yes, including those furry tumbleweeds—is mostly from your cat's undercoat. This hair gets trapped under the topcoat and then sheds pretty much everywhere—and that is where the FURminator can help.

    Damp results

    By on

I've been trying to lessen the allergens from the cat and thought I'd try this. The car does not like anything so far and this one was also a mild irritation to him. The liquid in it started to annoy him, but it's cutting down on the shedding.

With a name like "FURminator" I should have known

    By on

We have an autoship every month so you know I love Chewy.com. But, this item is such a joke. It is just a wet cloth, much like a baby wipe or swiffer mop. The cats, and we have three, hate it. It does not remove hardly any fur and it leaves them wet. Then they sit and clean themselves forever after we use them. I would definitely not recommend this item for anyone that is trying to take your shedding problem seriously. Waste of money. But Chewy we do love you.

Too strong of a scent, but the wipes do remove surface hair

    By on Top 500 Contributor

How I've been trying the Shed Control Cloths is by using the deShedding Tool, which leaves a lot of hair sitting on the back of the cats. And then I use the FURminator Shed Control Cloths to get all the excess hair off. It's been working rather well. However, there is a scent to the cloths and it makes Keala really angry. She'll run away after I'm done and will try to clean herself all up. To a human, the scent isn't bad at all, it's actually rather pleasent. Though to a cat, I would imagine it is an irritating scent. What attracted me to the FURminator Shed Control Cloths was that you could reuse them. What attracted me to the FURminator Shed Control Cloths was that you could reuse them. I've used one wipe many times - I just keep putting it in a baggie and it continues to work well. It's still a bit wet, so they aren't like the typical cloth or wipe that dries out quickly when exposed to air. These wipes are textured, so they grab onto the hair and pull all the loose hairs off the cats. I think I would the recommend FURminator Shed Control Cloths. I'm not totally thrilled with them, but they're not horrible. Truthfully, I believe they would be better for a dog, as they don't seem to be too bothered by scents and cloths/wipes like these ones. … more

    Cat doesn't like them wet

    By on

They're pretty good for picking up loose hair when dry but I have to take one out and let it dry before using because my cat does not like it if they're wet.

    Good product

    By on

I'm not entirely sure how effective these are at collecting surface hair as they claim. However, they are definitely good for keeping my cat's coat clean. My cat didn't seem to mind them at all, she just liked being petted, even with the cloth. She's very laid-back for a cat though, so perhaps this is why the cloths don't bother her as they bothered the cats of other reviewers.

    cats don't like it

    By on

my cats are scared of the cloth. They would run from me. I laid it on the carpet and they sniffed it a walked away. When I used it on the couch they didn't lay in that spot until the next day.
