Instinct Original Adult Grain-Free Real Salmon Recipe Dry Dog Food, 20-lb bag

This diet is tailor made for my Yorki, Bella. She has developed food allergies over the years and has become allergic to grains, chicken, turkey, beef, potatoes, carbohydrates, (including sugar, molasses, fructuous), and the vet suggested we try her on either lamb or fish. The previous fish food I got for her was Wysong Epigen Fish kibble. She loved it, and it was all she ate for 6 months. The rash, however persisted. Turns out that one of the minor ingredients in Wyson was fish meal. I was astonished when I read that. It's a really great product, but NOT for my dog. I switched to Nature's Variety about ten days ago. No problem doing a gradual switch and it took about 4 days converting her from one food to the other. No bowel or stomach problems. I feed her twice a day. Dry kibble in the morning and kibble mixed with a small amount of freshly cooked Tilapia or Cod at night. I also add a capsule of Acidophilus to help prevent any yeast infections and 1/2 capsule of an immune builder to help her own system fight off the allergies. I tried this food for my yorkipoo who wouldn't stop scratching. The vet said to give her Benadryl but I wanted to see if a different food would help first. I chose Instinct because it didn't have any of the common ingredients. It worked perfectly. Her skin is healthy, fur is super soft, and no scratching. Her stools are small and dark. She doesn't need to eat much at all. She is 16 lbs and eats less than a cup a day. She has been on this food for over 4 years. I have tried to switch to cheaper foods a few times only to have her scratch again like crazy. Fortunately she doesn't each much and chewy saves me money. I could never afford to feed this to my bigger dog. But with the high amount of protein you probably shouldn't feed it to a larger dog anyway unless they are super active. If you have a smaller or active dog with skin problems this may just be the medicine you are looking for! Don't forget to mix it in slowly over 2 weeks for a gradual switch or your dog will get sick.

I cannot say enough good things about this food! My 10 year old dog has been having issues with an allergy that was giving her sores on her belly, and back legs for a very long time. She also had a yeast ear infection. Not fun. Have been giving steroids, and antihistamine as we tried to figure it out. I hated having her on those meds at all, as she was still not right on the medications and that is not the answer. Initially took grains and starches out, and that helped a little... but we still needed more help. Read about this food; tried it, and we're so glad we did! We're three weeks in of the total switch, and we have seen an amazing turn around! Not one new sore, she has tons of new fur growing on her belly where she's never had a lot, and she's acting like she did before the condition started. A true answer to prayer for us!

Our 3 year old GSD has major allergy issues now for over a year. 5 food changes later, I can't believe it but could not wait to comment, we started converting her over 12 hours ago and already she has started to reduce her constant scratching and chewing on her feet and knees.
