When transitioning your pet to a new food, we recommend a gradual introduction of the new formula over a 7 day period. For pets with sensitivities, extend the transition period to 10 to 14 days. Start by adding a small amount of your pet’s new food to his or her current food. Gradually, increase the new food amount and decrease the current food amount at each feeding until you are feeding only the new food.

Uncompromising Holistic Nutrition
Diamond Naturals dog food provides high-quality holistic formulas designed to meet every pet's needs. These nutritious recipes are enhanced with proprietary probiotics for good digestion and immune system support, and superfoods are added to supply nutrients that keep animals strong and healthy.
Superfoods That Deliver
They didn't just add a few superfoods here and there in Diamond Naturals. You'll find 10-20% superfoods in all Diamond Naturals dry foods, made up of tasty ingredients like kale, blueberries, chia seeds, pumpkin, quinoa, coconut and spinach.

Balanced Digestive Support
Foods with added probiotics allow more nutrients to be absorbed and used by your dog's body, and that leads to better digestion and overall health. Diamond Naturals foods are enhanced with patented and powerful K9 Strain probiotics. Prebiotic fiber from chicory root plus soluble and insoluble fibers from pumpkin, coconut and dried kelp give extra digestive support.
Really Delicious Real Proteins
Made with real beef, lamb or chicken, Diamond Naturals dog food satisfies carnivorous cravings meal after meal. These nutritious animal proteins have the essential amino acids your dog needs to keep running, playing, jumping and staying fit. High-quality proteins like these are the building blocks of healthy muscles and strong bones.

Options for Sensitive Pets
All of Diamond Naturals' recipes exclude corn, wheat and soy, common fillers that are used in pet foods. If your dog is sensitive to this trio of ingredients, there's no need to worry when feeding Diamond Naturals. And for pups that have problems digesting grains, Diamond Naturals Grain-Free dog kibble is a great option for limiting exposure to these ingredients.
Don't Forget the Treats
When you want to reward your pup with a tasty treat, give him a Diamond Naturals biscuit. These crunchy bite-size snacks feature real lamb, chicken, beef or peanut butter plus whole flaxseed, rolled oats, turmeric and brown rice. They're all free of corn, wheat and soy, and they come in Large Breed with added glucosamine and Puppy biscuits that are smaller for tiny mouths.

Giant Breed Puppy Food
By Oscarthefoodsnobsmom on Jan 28, 2021
After months of researching the complicated needs of rapidly growing giant breed puppies I found the perfect food for my little dude, but of course, he hated it. After adding all sorts of things to each meal to get him to eat it, I finally decided to go against all of the advice out there stating to, "Absolutely never give a GD puppy food!" because after more evidence-based research, it turns out most people just don't know what they are talking about and are spreading nutrition misinformation just like humans who follow fad diets! Anyways, the nutrient content is actually quite on par with his needs. He doesn't love it, but is eating it better than his last brand of dog food that was about twice the price and is finally gaining some weight. I wish they had a salmon and brown rice formula for more essential omega-3s, but otherwise, pretty happy with this. Love chewy's free deliveries and excellent return policy! … more

My doberman puppy loves it
By MichelleR on Feb 21, 2021
After trying a much more expensive large breed puppy food, I switched to Diamond Large Breed puppy because my dog refused to eat the other. Happily, he loves the taste of this food. He also seems to appreciate the smaller, rounder kibble size. I definitely would recommend. This food also ranked high on several ratings sites for large breed puppy food.

Good food but caused my dog to have an odor.
By JessT on Jan 26, 2021
I have always been a fan of the diamond naturals and have heard great things about this dog food. Unfortunately it did not agree with my Doberman puppy. While on this food he would put off an extremely odd odor that smelt in the beginning of a horse stall but would turn into a burnt rubber smell. We tried multiple different shampoos products recommended by our vet but the smell would never go away. Finally our vet recommended we switch foods. Within 2-3 weeks of switching his diet the smell was gone!

Bad bag of food
By Ladydivine on Jan 20, 2021
Don't know if the bag was old, but the food was partially disintegrated in the bag. I lost about 5 or so pounds of food that had turned into powder in the bag and have to actually sift out the powder in order to give it to my dog. This was such h a waste, but I can't afford to throw the whole 40 pound bag away, so I sift it. Fortunately, once it's sifted, the puppy will eat it. The food is ok once sifted.

Puppy approved
By Tash on Feb 9, 2021
My Anatolian Shepherd pup seems to like this one. I switch up between Wellness Large breed puppy food, Chicken Soup for the Soul Large Breed for pups, and now I can add this to the rotation. The only large breed puppy food that we tried and she did not like was the American Journey active life with salmon and brown rice.

Great product!
By KJackson on Jan 12, 2021
I have a 10 month old American Bully and have been feeding her Hills since we got her. She has had some allergy issues and recently has been avoiding her food so we switched to Diamond Naturals. My dog loves this! She had no stomach issues when switching and her coat has become more shiny. She is no longer itchy like before. We will continue to buy this because she eats it and the price is great! I like that there are different flavor choices because I’m slightly convinced my dog doesn’t tolerate chicken well.

Not sure yet
By AGold on Jan 18, 2021
This is the 3rd dog food I have tried with my 14 week old pit puppies. It’s been almost 2weeks and I am about to lose my mind with the continuous large stools. They don’t act like they r in love with the food either but they haven’t acted like they loved science diet or blue Buffalo either. They had more normal stools with the blue Buffalo. Just not ready to throw the bag in yet and move on to a 4th type.

Bummer it didn't work for us.
By flhr on Dec 22, 2020
After lots of research I thought this as going to be a great food for my German Shepherd puppy. After 2 x 40 pound bags and many soft and loose stools I had to give in. I switched to Purina Pro Plan Large Breed Puppy which is a chicken based product and within a few days everything was normal. I'm not sure what the issue was, but it probably could use more fiber. I added fiber to the Diamond Naturals and it helped, but the directions recommend so much food and adding fiber made it always an emergency when my puppy had to go out. The volume was huge. I had high hopes and many people rave about this food, maybe start with a small bag.

Nutritious and Economical
By Review on Jan 19, 2021
This dog includes salmon oil and is nutritionally sound for my large puppy, pyredoodle. She loves it. AND it's the best price for this level of nutrition. Everything that I read suggests salmon oil for her skin but she did not like her last food that was salmon flavored. She loves this lamb flavor and still gets the nutrients she needs.

Dog doesn't care for this food
By Kara on Dec 13, 2020
Our vet recommended that we find a large breed puppy food rather than the puppy food we were feeding our 12 week old Great Dane. We picked this because our other dog (3 year old yellow lab) has food allergies but loves to steal kibble that the little one throws out of her crate while eating. This was the only large breed puppy food that was lamb based with only a small amount of other protein source. Unfortunately, our Great Dane won't eat this without mixing in toppers or wet food to entice her. She also has started trying to steal the older dog's food, so we know she's hungry!
