Easy to use brush
We recently adopted an Akita/Shepherd mix. His fur was in desperate need of help and this self cleaning brush was extremely helpful in giving the pooch the TLC he desperately needed. He loves being brushed with it and clean up of the brush after working on his thick undercoat is very easy.
Just not for my dogs
I do think this is a nice brush, so I didn't want to give it 1 star, but when I brush my small breed dogs, the sound it makes while it brushes through their fur....they cannot tolerate the sound. Makes them very nervous and anxious and not want to be brushed. So unfortunately, this is just not a brush that will work for me. And when I wanted to contact the Hertzko company about my situation, their email is no longer valid.
Have brush, collects hair, easy release!
Have 2 short-haired. 1 has thick coat with underlayer that my combs weren't getting through. The other 1 has real slick coat. This brush is great , they both like it,too!!! I don't comb very hard with it, it does have hard bristles, but I tried it on my arm, and it felt good!
Sliker Brush
This is a great brush. It gets the mats out of the fur without hurting the animal. So very easy to clean. Just push the button to pull in the brush part. Fur comes right off.
As Advertised
The brush works exactly as stated in the description. I brushed both cats and pushed the button to clear the hair. It worked perfectly, pushed the hair out and left the bristles clean. No more hassle trying to get hair out of the brush. My cats both enjoyed the brushing, they liked the new brush much better than the old one. I'm happy with my purchase.
Works okay, puppy HATES it
The brush seems to work pretty well and serves its purpose, but my dog hates it. She has a different brush that she loves, but she won’t let me even come near her with this one. I am concerned that the bristles are too sharp (they feel a bit sharp to my skin) which causes her to hate them. Even though the brush is functional enough I will not be using it as a part of her regular grooming as I had hoped to.
Effective, but disliked.
It works really, really well! The downside is, my cat runs away from it. So it’s become an every-so-often deep grooming brush, and I have to chase her down and sort of brush her as she dances out of reach.
escaping a hairy situation
the brush is perfect. its simple, its sensible, its magick! its made for all sizes, all types of coats. the easy of cleaning the brush from dog hair---my terrier's---is not even a question. poof! a sweep of the brush, and the dog hair/fur is gone; my couch is cleaner... my hands from petting, are hairless again. annnd, i dont have to see a therapist, or worry about a manicure, each time i brush the pooch and try to clean the brush! if i have 1 criticism, its that my dog is smaller, and the teeth are made to fit all sizes. therefore, the affect of the brush can be powerful---almost hurtful---to a littler dogs tender skin. whats terrific for a german shepherd may not be so gentle for a littler chihuahua-yorkie type. maybe 2 "sizes" or strengths in the teeth? ( i cannot speak to cats, alas). the concept is A+, 100%. for now, im careful to be gentler, the brush does its job, and im a happy camper. thank you.
Not really great for my Lab
I really like the self-cleaning feature of this brush but unfortunately didn't work well with my labrador. She didn't like the feel of the brush and it really didn't remove hair as well as other reviewers had claimed.
Brush is nice
I think the brush is good. It gets the hair off my cat and when I go gently in short strokes it's nice for him and he purrs. However the bristles have come out crooked at one section when I press the button. Didnt see any other people with this problem though so not sure if its major. Sure it can be fixed when I find a screwdriver. Love the self cleaning tho!
