No Help When Needed, glitchy & outdated
This review is a bit long, but for good reason. I hope it answers, and helps with your questions.
I like to be the best parent to my furry kids as I can. I researched & found this device to be among, if not the best on the market about 2-3 years ago.
There have been times I need to better understand what the issue is, as an example, if I cannot communicate with the device, or when the software seeming (constantly) goes awry, I expand on this in the ** section.
To quickly allow those that may have questions about how this device works allow me to summarize the most important details.
Setting the Jiobit up is a quick scan of the QR code, some basic personal info, your WI-Fi info etc. Quickly this allows for the device to use multiple ways of “finding itself”. Also note, you may allow others as a “Care Team” to have many of the features that the Primary User has. You are able to set up a radius of 100-500 feet from your address, which is considered & referred to as the “Trusted Place”
**Basically you see your “Trusted Place” as a circle of green. Looking down from above just like using any GPS device. If it goes beyond that, the location is shown as a dot. It moves as the Jiobit does…
…at least I think it does. There is zero way of communicating with the Jiobit when in the “Trusted Place” and if you have this on a cat, you know they can hide in plain sight- when I need to “Ring” him, if something comes up, I cannot. There is NO “dot” showing his location when in “Trusted Place”.
I understand that the company, which also makes “Tile” wants to utilize battery, as it is quite small. But why I cannot “Ring” (series of chirps) him when I need to is beyond me. Things come up.
!! When needing help from the company, “Chat with an Agent” is actually “YOUR RESPONSE WILL WE SENT IN 24-48 HOURS.” No phone number, for a device that is also intended for those with dementia, children etc.
Granted, after paying a premium for a non-5G GPS/crowd sourcing device, I am often told to upgrade my to the paid premium service. Which gives me the impression they have little faith in that this will be sold word-of-mouth. Or they know it is already very outdated in the tech/communications sector that call for a total overhaul to the product. The price point is not beyond that which could implement 5G.
Unable to see his location, “Ring” him, no support for 1-2 days, I also am having issues on multiple devices with my profile being changed to the Primary Users profile… (I could go on, but instead I want to thank you for being a great parent, by wanting a way to ensure the safety with regard to location of your loved one.)
But, at least I may have some answer in a couple days.

my jiobit is defective and Jiobit customer service is awful. Chewy is amazing at returns, so hopefully the replacement will work. I would not recommend purchasing this item directly from the company. Purchase it through Chewy in case there is an issue for a refund/replacement

Not Worth Ur Money
With a $12+ monthly subscription (which, by the way, if you attempt to cancel your subscription, they’ll offer you $5 a month for the same services) and $120 roughly for the device, ridiculous! My device broke off my cats collar when I was using their branded attachment pieces, so don’t trust those. The battery life sucks and it’s not very accurate. I much prefer my Tractive device for 1/4 the price.
Poor Quality
I have now had to send this item back twice. The emblem on the front has torn off both times leaving a hole in the exterior that has resulted in the device not working. This is all within 3 months of the initial order. I initially got a warranty replacement, but now that it’s happened again, I’ll be looking for a different tracking device. M

subscription needed
There is no mention in the product description that a $16/mo subscription is needed to use this product. Also, you can’t trust the reviews since buyers are “bribed” to give a positive review. If you post a positive review, Jiobit gives you a free month subscription

Zero stars isn't an option
My primary frustration was with the customer service. The device stopped tracking. Over and over (I think I counted 17 emails) I tried to get help from customer service. They kept telling me to send them photos of the device which I did, over and over and over. After two weeks of this, the device was lost. I couldn't track ot because it stopped functioning. It worked for about 6 weeks. Don't buy this device (unless you enjoy frustration and wasting money).
not sturdy, breaks easily
this product didn't even last 60 days before cracking open and then a few days later it came off the collar clip and was gone. No tracking available to even find it. Most of the time, it would say my pet was home in a safe place when I could see her hundreds of feet from home. There didn't seem anyway to "wake" it up.

Cat and dog owner
I got this on November 2021 and it quit working in August 2022. I've been getting the runaround by customer support and now I'm in tech support and they are asking all the same questions I've previously answered and are taking 3 days to respond to me. No phone conversations, all on email. Jiobit works great until it doesn't. Then you're SOL because you don't have anyone to help and they got you by your pocket book because you're locked into a contract.
Battery doesn't stay charged
I do like this product. It has given me piece of mind knowing where my cat is. However the battery only last one day. I'm having to charge it everyday.
Puuurrrrrrrfect for my cat
We picked this tracker after hours of researching these type of devices. This one applying Bluetooth & 5G wifi definitely made this the best option! We only have any issue at times saying "low accuracy" but we've determined that's only when he goes into a drain pipe. I'm ordering a cover for it now, the gel case, this one factor would be my recommendation on what could make it a better product ((from running through the forest or maybe just a little cat fight)) it's already recieved multiple rips & I applied super glue to keep it together and from worsening.
