At this time, the manufacturer only makes this size SmartKey.
How do you get the extra Smart key to work with the Petsafe Smartdoor

PetSafe's innovative Smart Door recognizes the SmartKey worn on your pet’s collar and unlocks the pet door. After your pet has passed through and the SmartDoor no longer senses your pet's SmartKey, it automatically locks back into place. Each SmartDoor can program up to 5 SmartKeys.
Can this item be installed in a wall or does it have to go in a door?

The SmartKey would need to be installed in the SmartDoor.

I feel these are too bulky.

I've seen plenty of RFID tags that are more streamlined and smaller. For a smaller dog and a puppy, this is bulky and annoying on their neck.

broken color

I ordered the door awhile ago. Installed the door, putting a big hole in our door and one of the smart key won’t work. Been waiting for replacement key so we can use the door. We bought the door so our kittens would not go out. Now one of them keeps getting out. So we have to lock the door all the time and the dogs will Pee in the house because they have been trained to use the doggie door. Now I am out a couple hundred dollars and can’t have the doggie door open. Yes I can buy another door but we have already invested in this one and don’t want our kitten to get hurt.

Too heavy for my little MinPins to wear

It's so bulky and heavy that even though we got 2 for our MinPins, we never use them. Luckily we haven't had any unwanted visitors, since we leave the door unlocked all the time.

They are great!!

They are great, but you could make them a little smaller. They are pretty big especially for little dogs.

Falls off too easily and gets lost

Have 2 of these. They both have came off multiple times and now are lost. They need better rings to secure them

Battery lock

The battery does not lock in very easy puppies have lost two . Have to silicon it in to make sure the puppies don't get locked in or out.
