Keeps cat entertained to decrease unwanted scratching or clawing
I bought this for my 7 month old kitten and omigoshhhh she ABSOLUTELY loves this! I honestly expected it to be smaller and figured it would be flimsy since it was so cheap in price but it’s not. It’s a very hard plastic and and is way bigger than I thought it would be. She is a handful sometimes and is constantly under my feet or climbing up my leg but this toy is AWESOME! Since opening our box today she’s been ignoring me and keeps playing with this and meowing at it. The ball lights up and is motion activated. And that makes her reaction even funnier!
I’m trying to upload a picture but it won’t let me (arghhh!)
He likes it

My cat, Tommy, has a large collection of toys that he never plays with, so I wasn't too hopeful about this one. I was surprised to see that Tom likes it! I think the catnip initially attracted him to it. He doesn't use the scratcher, but plays with the ball. He's not obsessed with it, but has not been this playful in a long time. He has serious health issues and his interest in the toy has become a gage as to how he's feeling on a given day. Also, Tommy is a 20 lb Maine Coon and the toy is unmoving and stable when placed on carpet.

Our kittens are not interested in scratch pads on the ground. We purchased this to help make them more interesting for them to explore. I love how well it is made. You can easily replace the scratch pads as they wear out. There are also tons of attachments you can put in the middle in addition to the star chaser in the track. My kittens still are not interested in the scratch pad itself, but they are very interested in everything else. Chewy has a great deal on this great product. I would highly recommend it!
It's a hit!!

As you can see by the picture (well, the picture didn't upload!!), SissyAnn loves her new toy. She had one years ago that did not light up and she ignored it. But this one - she plays with every day and into the night. Yep, sometimes I will wake up and hear the faint rolling of the ball. It doesn't disturb me and that wasn't why I woke up. But it sure beats the midnight crazies!
Perfect companion on regular star chaser

We got this after getting the original star chaser so cats could have one each. Success! They love the light up ball and it definitely grabs and keeps their attention. Love the double function of ball chaser and scratching board. My cats destroy scratching boards so I like this because the board is replaceable and does not make a mess like a typical board. Thanks!
I love this and recommend it to all cat parents.

I love this. The cats love to play with it, I don't have to go searching for lost balls under furniture, and they seem to also like the scratching insert as well. A little catnip in the middle and you're good to go. It's a great value as well, and it lasts, you just need to replace the cardboard scratcher. I've used it with the plain ball and the turbo. They love both. I do rescue and can have quite a number of cats here at one time, and mine has already lasted 12 years and is still going strong.
Great idea but..

If you have cats like mine this will not last 2 seconds. The cardboard is on there in a spiral pattern and when they scratch the middle it immediately starts to come apart and unwind and once that starts they just keep pulling and unraveling. They had unraveled it within 2 hours of me opening it. Good thought but not sure the design is the best.
Loved it so much, had to buy two

I bought this for my three cats. They loved it so much I had to buy another one because they didn't want to share. They will actually sit or lay on it not allowing the others to play because they want it all to themselves. Money well spent for this cat toy/scratcher. Btw, my one year old never used any of the other scratchers but will use this one.
Cats LOVE it!

I've had cats for nearly 13 years now and have figured out that most cats just want to play with a crumpled up receipt, piece of string, or a cardboard box. This led to a noticeable lack of actual cat toys in my house over the last decade. Recently, I've noticed they have been getting bored and fighting with each other more than usual, so I wanted to get a toy that they could play with when I'm not around to entertain them. They LOVED IT. Immediately, they started to play with it, and now I see them on it at least once a day. The ball in it pops out every once in a while, but you just put it back in it's track and let them at it again. This Thing Right Here

This is the only thing my cat will scratch even without catnip. I bought her a 6 ft cat tree that she wants nothing to do with. I had to buy multiple of these because of dogs but I will buy these for every room in my house!
