Important Information

Fleas rise to the top of your pet's coat as they die, so consider it a triumph if you start seeing more fleas at first, after treating your pet. If you’re still seeing fleas after application, it may be because your pet has picked up new fleas from the environment, which may include other pets, surfaces and outdoor areas. It may take up to 30 days to break the entire flea life cycle. Additionally, you should also treat sources of new fleas (i.e., carpet, yard, etc.) to ensure complete flea control.

What does the 3rd ingredient, Pyriproxyfen, do?
Answer by ChewyOct 26, 2018
Pyriproxyfen is a safe insect growth regulator which will inhibit the hatching of flea eggs and the development of flea larvae.

does frontline have to be put right on the skin?
Answer by ChewyOct 26, 2018
This product does need to be applied directly into the skin to be absorbed.

Do the fleas have to walk across the treatment for it to work?
Answer by ChewyOct 17, 2018
FRONTLINE Gold has 3 secret weapons: fipronil, to take out adult fleas and ticks and (S)-methoprene and pyriproxyfen to kill the next generation of flea eggs and larvae before they can develop into adult fleas. Once FRONTLINE Gold is applied, fipronil stores itself in the oil glands in your pet's skin. It then works continuously for 1 month as it is released from the hair follicles onto the skin and coat.

Is frontline gold safe for pregnant cats
Answer by ChewyJan 02, 2019
Frontline Gold is approved for use on cats who are breeding, pregnant or lactating.

Always the best

Ever since I was little, my family used Frontline for our pets. Now that I've moved out on my own, I've began to see the value of it. Georgia has many fleas around. It's so easy for someone to bring them in from outside after cutting the grass or hiking. I can rest assure that not only are my cats free of fleas, but so is the rest of my family. The squeeze bottles make it easy and quick to apply to the back of the neck. My cats hate being pinned for long, so the shorter it take me to give it to them, the better.

Frontline Gold

Not sure I will buy this again. Both of my cats were ill. One for 2 days and my other cat was sick (throwing up food) for almost a week. Never had fleas before and knowing that this product had good reviews on line I thought it would help eliminate the fleas. But not worth it when my cats were throwing up several times a day. Will look into other means next time. BTW, both cats are still scratching, but I can's see any evidence of fleas.

Works until it doesn't.

The problem is this - we did not had a winter here in New England, and the fleas, mites and ticks never went dormant. Frontline (and any topical treatment) is only effective for so long, and when a double dose each month is not enough to knock down the infestations, then you have to move onto something else. Frontline Gold worked great for about three months, then it became a losing battle.

The best preventative

I have been using this on my cats that have currently had fleas and as a preventative for at least 5 years now. I extremely recommend it as a preventative, any cat I have been using it on every month who did not currently have fleas has never gotten fleas. This is extra important to me as I am a professional pet sitter and also work at a dog friendly bar, so I am constantly around all animals. Any of my kitties who were afflicted with fleas happened either because they were not on a preventative or on a different flea med that did not work at all. If your cat currently has fleas I highly recommend giving them a dose of capstar and then immediately following up with this medication for at least the next 3 months.

Box arrived smashed

My package arrived today with both the Frontline box smashed and the shipping box it was in. I would have thought possibly the carrier did it but I've had similar experiences from Chewy where bags of dry cat food arrive cut. I've seen other reviews with the same complaint. This will be my last time ordering from this site unless they can fix their packing issue. I've used this product before and it works well. I hope I get to use all 6 vials I purchased, 2 of them are questionable due to the smashed packaging.

Absolutely a waste!!

I changed from using the regular Frontline to this mess & not only did it not work at all but now I'm having to treat my apartment for fleas as well.. My cat is indoor/outdoor & I never had to put the other product on every month..maybe every 3.. I purchased this & it seems as if his fleas enjoy it & began to multiply.... IT'S A WASTE OF MONEY!!

Hasn't worked after 3 months

I've spent a fortune buying this for all three of my indoor-only cats for three months, and they still have fleas. It was recommended by my vet. I've been keeping my house meticulously clean, flea combing them, and given them flea baths.
