AdvoCat Rescue grew out of network of rescuers on social media. The would come together when a stray cat or a litter needing rescue would show up in Queens neighborhoods. Eventually the group decided to make it official and AdvoCat Rescue was born.
Most of our rescue kitties come from the streets or kill shelters. By pulling from a shelter, it creates space in the shelter so that another can be rescued.
Often found cats are abandoned and well-suited to return to the good indoor life. If they hadn't been fixed (often is the case with dumped animals) often are kittens. We have them trapped, vetted (including spay/neuter), assessed, and they go to foster...
