Al-Van Humane Society, a non-profit animal shelter in South Haven, MI, was founded in 1968 and has served the community and companion animals of Van Buren and Allegan counties for 48 years. In 2012, Al-Van Board of Directors adopted no-kill best practices to ensure all adoptable animals would be cared for until a forever home was found. The shelter provides day-to-day care; housing; medical care; enrichment, and facilitates adoptions for over 500 animals a year.
