About Us
ACARF (Allen County Animal Rescue Facility) is a nonprofit no-kill animal shelter in rural La Harpe, Kansas. Our shelter was established by a grassroots group of dedicated people who wanted to give vulnerable animals in southeast Kansas the help and hope they did not have before our organization was created. ACARF rescues, rehabilitates, and finds homes for the lost and unwanted dogs and cats of our area. Although we have small contracts to take in the animals impounded by animal control officers in a few surrounding towns, we also take in many animals who are found or surrendered by the general public.
