American Heritage Wildlife Foundation conserves the local North Idaho wildlife through rehabilitation of the injured or orphaned and offering community education. Founded in 2001, this 100% volunteer and community supported nonprofit responds to over 300 telephone calls each year, helps more than 100 individual patients each year and records between 3,000 and 4,000 volunteer hours each year. AHWF has state and federal permits for rehabilitation of roughly 270 of 280 species of native Idaho wild animals and for educational use of animal artifacts as teaching tools along our Nature Walk guided pathway.
