The AniMeals program provides free pet food and low cost veterinary care for the companion animals of low income, senior citizens. A need for the a program of this type became evident upon the discovery by Meals on Wheels volunteers that some elderly clients were feeding portions of their own meals to their pets. The Animal’s program helps seniors to maintain the special bond they have with their companion animals and eases the physical and financial worry of feeding and caring for them.
