About Us
Buffalo Audubon at Beaver Meadow Nature Preserve inspires Western New Yorkers to connect with nature through immersive and engaging education programs and experiences, hikes, and birding walks.
We also care for a few select animal friends that cannot be released into the wild. They help to educate the public on their characteristics and adaptations, wildlife, habitats, the environment, and conservation issues. Our ambassador animals include Zelda the Eastern Screech-owl, Snappy the Common Snapping Turtle, Sylvie the Wood Turtle, Stella the Red-eared Slider Turtle, Picasso the Painted Turtle, Boxanne the Eastern Box Turtle, Spotty the Spotted Turtle, Aragorn the Eastern Kingsnake, Houdini the Black Rat Snake, and Cornbread the Corn Snake, among others that are brought to us.
