Byram Animal Rescue Kindness Squad (BARKS) is a New Jersey Corporation and a federally designated 501 (c) (3) non-profit cat and dog rescue located in Sussex County. BARKS has been helping cats and dogs since 1973. We are a volunteer-based animal rescue and depend on donations. Our mission is to provide shelter, veterinary care and permanent placement of stray, abandoned and displaced cats and dogs. We advocate a no-kill policy and promote alternative methods of reducing animal overpopulation such as affordable adoption and spay/neuter programs.
