Chiquita Chihuahua Rescue's primary mission is the rescue of senior, small breed dogs who have special needs. This can include dogs that require extensive veterinary care or have behavioral issues. The majority of our rescued dogs come from shelters that are our rescue partners. The dogs are fostered in a crate-free home environment, where they are exposed to daily household routines and are allowed to physically/emotionally rehab at their own pace. CCR has been extremely successful at placing our dogs in abundantly loving homes, and almost all of our adopters maintain contact by sharing updates and photos - Even several years after the adoption.
