About Us
For 140 years, Columbus Humane has been a cornerstone of animal welfare in central Ohio. Our mission—to fight animal cruelty, help animals in need, and advocate for their well-being—has never been more critical. Columbus Humane focuses on animal welfare by providing shelter, medical care, and rehoming for approximately 8,000 animals each year, with a 76% placement rate. The shelter cares for an average of 235 animals daily across more than 30 species and conducts over 6,000 investigations annually, achieving a 92% conviction rate to rescue animals from abuse and neglect. Engaging the community through outreach, education, and volunteer programs, with 626 volunteers contributing over 24,647 hours of service in 2023. Additionally, Columbus Humane offers subsidized veterinary care and resources to over 60,000 pets and people in need, distributing 684,944 pounds of food and supplies.Find Us
