We are dedicated to saving dogs and cats in Jackson and its surrounding areas who are in need of loving homes. We are committed to providing low-cost spay/neuter options to reduce the population of unwanted animals, and we work to educate our community on topics such as pet healthcare and responsible ownership.CARA is operated by volunteers, volunteer board members, and part-time shelter employees. We are a 501c3 nonprofit organization supported by private donations from individuals, businesses, and fundraising events. We require an application be submitted and reviewed by our Adoption Committee. Adoption fee of $150 for dogs and $125 for cats includes age appropriate vaccinations, preventatives, spay/neuter services, and microchip.
