Friends of Lapeer County Animal Control is a non-profit organization that was created to help bridge the gap in funding for the medical needs of the animals housed at Lapeer County Animal Control. Because the county budget is so low and they don't have a veterinarian on staff, they have to outsource most of their vet care for the animals that come in. This makes it quite costly when it comes to paying for spaying/neutering, vaccinations, heartworm tests, preventatives, and address any other medical needs of animals prior to adoption. Friends of Lapeer County Animal Control is a group of individuals that comes together to raise funds in order to help offset those costs.
