About Us
Our organization is a no-kill rescue committed to keeping dogs and cats safe, happy and healthy while they wait to be adopted into loving, forever homes. We house approximately 150 at any given time. Some stay at FFR only a matter of days or weeks, but sometimes it takes months of care and rehabilitation before they are able to go to a new home. We don't believe that a broken leg, an injured eye, heartworms, or other treatable medical issues should be a reason to die. And certainly, being homeless shouldn't be a reason to lose your life. Before adoption, all animals are spayed or neutered, microchipped and fully vaccinated. If a dog test positive for heartworms, it is treated for the disease. Our staff works to match the right animal with the right family, in order to ensure that our animals stay in their new forever homes. Our outreach programs include humane education in elementary schools and upon request, volunteers take dogs to nursing homes to visit with residents.
