Heartland Small Animal Rescue was originally founded to rescue small pocket pets such as rabbits, guinea pigs, and other small & furry animals from shelters and adopt them out to forever homes through our established adoption program. A few years later, we expanded the rescue to include cats and in 2010 we expanded again to include dogs. Since then, our rescue has significantly grown as we continue to rescue pets in need from our local shelters as well as other high-capacity shelters throughout the Midwest.
