About Us
H.E.A.L. was originally established to support the San Bernardino City Animal Shelter and has since expanded its mission to meet a growing and critical need within our community. Our primary focus today is providing medical insurance for Police K-9s throughout the Inland Empire through our campaign, Chewy’s Red Ball Fund. Currently, H.E.A.L. provides insurance coverage for more than 50 Police K-9s. While law enforcement agencies cover medical care during a K-9’s active service, all medical expenses become the sole responsibility of the handler once the dog retires.
