About Us
Houlagans' Rest is a rescue of last resort. The rescue was started by 2 sisters after the devastation left by Hurricane Katrina. Pups are pulled from kill shelters right before their time is up after all other rescues have taken as many dogs as they can. As a no-kill rescue we have also become a sanctuary for those who never find a forever home and spend the remainder of their lives with us. There is a great need for donations of time, food, and money to continue the mission. The senior population brings significant additional medical and veterinary expenses. We have a hiking program to build confidence for dogs who need to reconnect with folks.Find Us
