About Us
For over 44 years, the Humane Society of Forsyth County (HSFC), an autonomous and privately funded 501(c)(3) non-profit, has steadfastly served Forsyth County and its inhabitants. Since its inception in 1975, HSFC has successfully placed over 28,000 animals in caring, permanent homes.
As the foremost no-kill, non-profit humane center focusing our efforts in and around Forsyth County, GA, HSFC remains committed to:
- Rescuing homeless cats and dogs within the county
- Mitigating pet overpopulation
- Educating our community on the principles of responsible pet ownership
- Keeping pets in their homes and out of shelters
As an autonomous and independent entity, we operate independently from organizations such as the ASPCA, Humane Society of the US, or Associated Humane Societies. HSFC operates without government affiliation or funding from federal, state, or local sources. Our capacity to nurture the community's animals is solely sustained through modest fees and donations.
