About Us
We are a non-profit volunteer animal welfare organization dedicated to the relief of suffering animals, the prevention of cruelty to animals and the extension of humane education. We do not operate a shelter at this time but depend on private homes to provide foster care for the sick or injured stray and abandoned animals that we care for. The HSRC has been a "no-kill" rescue since its inception in 1973. Only in extreme cases when an animal is suffering and veterinarians can give no hope of recovery and good quality of life does the HSRC select euthanasia.
